Stu's was over 400bhp in its previous incarnation and he's still very much alive
They handle the power SO much better than you would expect.

fair play, its all about how you drive them too i expect. i remember darren cudds post about his i think 350bhp westy.

he went to overtake a car, lost traction halfway past and the back end swung around and hit the car he was overtaking, then he hit something else too iirc....

that was in the dry lol

Was that on the road?
Im sure that even 350bhp on normal road tyres on dodgy british tarmac is a lethal combination

Not many good, cheap, used 15s though, most classes running 15s seem to use the a048 as the control tyre.

Ali, I dont think wether or not he can get cheap secondhand tyres is of a great concern to Lee TBH mate, I should think he would just prefer to buy new tyres anyway.

Jesus - I find myself backing off in my TB'd Pinto Westy and that only makes 160bhp!

Well done on the rebuild - it's been a pleasure to watch.

cracked block! whooopsy!

I knew something was gonna happen if I am honest as it was just a standard rebuild on a grp.A gasket and just whacked

I still managed to do a few laps at Bedford and it was feeling great before it broke. So really pleased.

so engines out and will go up to Reyland to be longstudded and rebuilt with proper WRC gasket etc etc...

GOOOOD news is.... that whilst the engine was out decided to go for an Elite 6speed sequential gearbox

I know I said I would not go sequential on it at the start... but the goalposts and 'aims' of the car have kinda moved now! and I will have the Clio for everyone else to drive at events now too

awesome on squential, but will it take the power?

i know the car is light, but once you get grip there is going to be awesome amount of stress on it, will it take it?

as i said, gutting about the block, but bigger and better now

Ah, maybe a different car, read about a guy with a nova turbo that was at Snet a few weeks back and had a match up with a SCS prepared rwd Esc running 520hp, was a suprise to hear the Escort couldn't keep up !

Just shows how mental this bathtub will be really, more power, less weight, FAR better handling and braking, got to be the ultimate trackday toy really !
