back to the thoughts about heat soak, could you not have radiused shoud fabricated on the back of the intercooler, so it vents out the bonnet and if you where really bothered stick some of that thermal reflective stuff on the intake and out take to the i/c to make it a sealed unit?

You have to remember where the intercooler sits on these type cars and that there is pretty much knowhere for the heat to escape when sitting still.
There is a rad, oil cooler and engine all very close and enclosed in a really tight space.

OK, so its nearly finished. Fitted all the new widetrack front suspension yesterday. Just need some correct length shockers as the original were manky and some spares I had are too long.
Today is finish all the shi**y little jobs day. Speedo sensor mounting and wiring, oil temp sensor mount and wiring, get the rev counter working correctly, mount the ecu, bolt the dash in properly, finish the intercooler mounts and bolt it down, boost hoses........
Jesus, I better get out of bed and get cracking!

Not much to update on. Its pretty much done now. Just awaiting the new shocks and a few little odds and sods to finish.
Been busy doing stuff on my own cars today!
8 new coilpacks, 8 New plugs, A pair of air filters and some new discs and pads was on the menu!
PROPER BRAKES!!!! The calipers on the bus are HUGE! Thats a 350mm x 35mm disc just to put it into perspective!!!

Obvisously too early in the morning for you Ryan! The RS4 has bigger brakes and 8 pots already!
Yesterday was a freshen up on the Cayenne. Its due its big service and was running a bit poorly too. Its fairly common for the original coilpacks to crack on these. When I removed them all 8 were badly cracked! Been gone for a while too which meant the plugs were non too pretty either! Anyways it runs like the day it left the showroom again now!
Can you believe the coilpacks are cheaper then the plugs! Ł12 per coilpack and Ł13 per plug.
Front brakes were tired too although they managed 40,000 miles on the same discs and pads. Thats pretty good in my eyes considering its been tracked quite a few times and weighs 2.5 tonnes!!! Saying that, its had an easy life in the last year ferrying baby and missus too and from the coffee shops.
All in all I reckon yesterdays efforts will reduce my service bill by around Ł1500 and all pretty straight forward to do.
