Yes, i put them on and im NOT taking them off. Feels a lot more sure footed turnign into and through the bends. I cant wait until i have enough cash for a rear beam. The 3 laps i got a Snetterton felt much better than i thought it would. not perfect by a long way but the springs have deffo helped

I have the normal rear springs if you want to try them or buy them?

How about a try before I buy

My car is really weird at the moment but I havent had a chance to get it tracked properly.

I was out in it last night and it seemed to handle superbly with tons and tons of front end grip.

Just feels really weird in the wet or on long sweeping high speed corners.

I really need to let someone who knows about suspension setups to drive the car and see what they think.

Sounds like you need a proper rear beam to me . I take it all the main beam bushes are poly and in good order (and not cheap shit)?

What springs are on it at the moment?

That is what I thought, so I couldn't understand why he was wanting to change ... It will be the geometry settings due to the standard rear beam....

Thats a shame. I've got some special rods here and would love to have ago at welding a wastegate to the standard cossie manifold top part.

If you can get Stu to build some sort of boost cut into your chip or alternativly knock your own one up with a cheap hobbs pressure sensor and a relay then you could run with one of the cheapo tial copies from xs power etc. I haven't actually heard of them failing mind you.

Then you just need someone to fab some 1.5" stainless from your wastegate back into your down pipe. Or out under the car if you want a screamer.

Doug,
The screamer isn't an option, as the noise regs for track days are getting more strict by the year .

What management are you going to run?

With most you should get a configurable output that you could setup for boost cut or a boost cut set up in the software.

Its just good insurance that allows you to take the risk of running a cheap wastegate. Ł60 will buy you one off ebay!

True.

I've got an exup exhaust valve from an R1 sat here that would make a great gate for a screamer pipe. Open off track and diverted back into down pipe on tracks with tight noise regs.

The turbo has already been ordered with an internal gate. I dont really see any point in external as im not chasing every last bhp that could be available

The standard rear beam is not adjustable in any way, so you are stuck with what-ever you have.

You can fit shims to adjust the toe, or you can slot all the mounting holes, fit heavy duty washers and the adjust the beam to get the settings that you want, before welding the washers into position so the beam can't move (not ideal, as you still have the inherent bump steer that goes with the standard beam, but this is what the Grp N boys used to do ).

Rich,

When does yours go in to Slims to be fitted then mate?

Kev,

The settings Mike gave me for my Zoo beam worked perfectly, it's so nice to drive now. I don't like to tell him this though cus it'll go to his head.. i know you're on standard beam, but his advice is pretty good, SOMETIMES........

Rich,

It'll be the week after next, need the car for National Day, then it'll be going down then..

Mate, not really fussed about numbers tbh like you, i'm going for better spool up (HOPEFULLY) if i get 450-460 then yes all well and good, but remember i'm still on the 205 block too... real tears..

All bushes are in good nic and are polyflex ones.

The car used to handle ok and was always planted and predictable(understeer).

After fiting the track psec rear springs the rear wants to come round on long sweepers which is quite un-nerving.

If I go round and round a roundabout the rear washes out like I have pulled the handbreak rather than understeering.

I know this sounds like a good set up for the track but its not ideal for our wet slidy Scottish roads!
