Thanks Glenn.
Well I finally got my finger out and payed the car a visit today, got the head turbo and inlet off, next is to get the car on a ramp and get the block/G.box out.
Im thinking new Oil pump, crank regrind and new bearings, ford head gasket/bolts, maybe modify the conrods for cosworth bolts or ARP, new set of std rings and give the bores a hone, also looking at a stg2 turbo and i've got an intercooler to go on (home made 4xS2 rs turbo coolers welded together Good quality cores that work well so it should do a good job whilst fitting in nicely rather than taking up the full front end!)
and also i've got that stg3 big valve head and kent cam/pulley. All it needs is a decent management system...but not sure i'll go that far with it just want it back on the road.
Updates soon

Right well dropped crank off last monday at the machine shop, its getting a regrind and some uprated mains/big ends so will get that back this monday coming.
Bought following items from burtons:

Already have: Head gasket, Exhaust manifold gasket and rocker cover gasket from Ford
Bores hardly have any wear so will fit new rings and give it a light hone.
will be painting a few bits in black wrinkle finish, inlet, rocker cover, timing belt cover and whatever else I see along the way, might even get all the bolts re-plated if I cba!
So far, engine steam cleaned and on the stand to measure ring gaps/bore wear and all the burton parts arrived.
Will do a bit more tomorrow lunch time

Ok so i've nearly finished rebuilding the engine, got loads of bits to paint and try get the engine bay looking a bit better (mostly painting stuff wrinkle black) also gave the car a quick clean, had to clay bar the bonnet roof and boot from all the crap that's been lying on it over the past year even under a cover!
some pics:
lookin forward to getting it back together and out on the road....also got a pair of S2 front arch liners to go in, S1's never came with them but suffer badly so thought i'd stick a pair in just to help it

bolted a few more bits onto the engine, waiting on the rocker cover returning all crackle black, done the timing belt cover myself but its not perfect...do the job though
Wanted to do the inlet, but running out of time so jus put it back on as is, can always buy another to do then fit it at a later date!
Ic I found kicking about, so decided it'd be a good idea to fit it, it's a bit tight for the fan so just trying to figure a way of getting the fan rad and IC all in together then need to fab pipes up and weld them onto the end tank....need to do it before the engine goes back in unfortunately so thats holding that up.
4xS2 ic's, old beside new-er!

About time too! I done the timing belt cover and a few other bits myself, and my mate's doing the rocker cover as I trust him to make a better job of it as he uses the wrinkle paint all the time! It's VHT wrinkle or crackle black, can get it from burton iirc Neil.
Rab, Carlo, agree with the orange indicators, just trying to get a good matching gen ford set, will be swapped when I find some! Not sure about the spot lights though!
Fixed the bodykit today after I stupidly caught it with my foot when removing engine and added a couple of white LED bulbs to the number plate lamps
Going to put them behind the dash too as it's not the brightest with the std bulbs!

Nice on the bulbs! Where did you get them pal? Mine are not the brightest either, both number plate AND dash.
Can you not get ambers new??? I'm sure I saw somewhere selling them.... Dunno if they were genuine ford right enough, but apprently they were of similar quality.

Best way I found is to get some heat in the part with a heat gun, not too hot, give the can a good shaking, spray evenly a cot left-right then up-down and in opposite diagonals, then go over it with a heat gun bein carefull not to get it too hot again...and as it dries the paint reacts and wrinkles! well never worked 100% of the time perfectly for me but mostly.
Got them from here Rab:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-4-LED-H...item1e64291c43
Yea you can get the orange non ford indicators new but they never look as orange! will prob just get a set anyway as my clear ones are old and ones chipped.
Was considering doing the rest of the lights in LED, i.e. indicators, stop tail, sidelights but not sure if they will be too bright...can't cost much to try i guess.
Aye, haven't picked the best time as it'll be winter soon but hey better late than never

Engines in !!!!
Rocker covers with my mate who's doing the wrinkle finish so won't have it back til Fri to start it but almost everythings ready to go.
Still looks no bad underneath after sitting for a year:
Engine gettin ready for a fitting:
Nearly in:
Ahh, home!:
Heat painted manifold:
Gettin there Decided against intercooler for the moment...was going to be too tight so i'll likely get an airtec one and fit it over winter.
badly needs some Gaz coilovers or at least the konis/susp painted or p-coated and new springs, again that'll be a job for winter!

Cheers Rab, just came across this (not literally)
http://www.autospecialists.co.uk/Pro...oduct-979.html#
Think that would suit me as won't be running loads of boost (.9bar unless I chip it and get some injectors) fits without any mods and a good price! hmmm
