just spent ages reading this thread mate, what an excellent job! - love the anglia, shes a beauty, if you need any photoshops on what colour just ping me over a pic of the body and what colours you want and ill put them on the car for you

today i have been mostly cutting and grinding lovely. Have finally found some enthusiasm to start on the drivers side. It turns out to be quite a lot worse than the passenger so will take a bit more buggering about. While i was at the garage i have taken some measurements to possibly start on a fuel tank and drivers seat mounts. on with the pictures

have had a fairly dull day today making a lot of plates for the future plan of spaceframing the front. so pics of dull plates, also started on chassis rails. need to redo them as i made a cock up on some calculations

nice welding, hard to weld 3mm to standard 0.8mm or what ever it is metal. cant wait to see it finished.

finally managed to drag the car oveer the workshop today to start on the next part of it. was there at 7 this morning and have just got in. quite tired now heres some pics from todays action

Great work, have been thinking about doing just this to my Mk2 Cortina, this is probably one of the most interesting and inspiring builds I've followed, well done.

Thanks for the comments, I didn't ever really plan on this it just happened lol. I wasn't very happy with the front end. It just looked messy with all the added on bits. This way its all tidied up in one go. Will just have to some new brackets up for battery etc but that's alright.

Have got back from new zealand and finished moving our workshop so finally had some time to go and see my car again. As ive got a new front end i need to redo all my engine/ suspension mounts so making a start on the engine.

So engine mounts, need to make some bits of tube to connect the 2 parts

Well did a little more on it today, workmate brought a welder round so i could tack up the engine mounts so thanks to him. Also got the new gearbox mount on, and tacked on the tca mounts. Not a massive amount of progress but better than nothing.

Very nice Project. Nice general fabrication all round.
And if that was the first time you welded alum, very nice job. You Tig it i assume. ?

last time i went through this thread i just browsed it and was impressed, but i just took the time to read it through thoroughly and WOW lots of fabrication skills have gone into this, i just hope the end product will be effective

well, he did used to make the caterham chassis lol so his CV is pretty good!

dan also made the cage in my 3dr (which is for sale lol), porkie and stu's westfield cages etc

he works for caged
