small update, have tried the lights into see what they look like.
Thankfully will just have enough height to get a decent fall to tank
Hopefully next update i will actually make a bit more progress on the drivers side of the body as thats been neglected really

today i have been mostly cutting and grinding lovely. Have finally found some enthusiasm to start on the drivers side. It turns out to be quite a lot worse than the passenger so will take a bit more buggering about. While i was at the garage i have taken some measurements to possibly start on a fuel tank and drivers seat mounts. on with the pictures
next few showing how badly the sill repair was done. have ground a lot of filler today
and various holes ive made today
also the new sill is getting there position wise
The only good thing is the wheel arch doesnt seem anywhere near as bad so am just replacing the corners. Thats all for now, am filthy and need a shower

have had a fairly dull day today making a lot of plates for the future plan of spaceframing the front. so pics of dull plates, also started on chassis rails. need to redo them as i made a cock up on some calculations
rear chassis outriggers
Hardcore jacking points to be put in where originals were
the rest are front end plates
bulkhead to chassis rail
original chassis rail to new rail convertors
TCA and tension strut mounts
Sat on the new rail (which is wrong) Also my mate put the tca mounts on the wrong way round for the pics for some reason gives an idea of what they will look like tho
Also made a new inner sill section, new floor section and other patchy bits. hopefully get some more time later next week

Great work, have been thinking about doing just this to my Mk2 Cortina, this is probably one of the most interesting and inspiring builds I've followed, well done.

Thanks for the comments, I didn't ever really plan on this it just happened lol. I wasn't very happy with the front end. It just looked messy with all the added on bits. This way its all tidied up in one go. Will just have to some new brackets up for battery etc but that's alright.

Have got back from new zealand and finished moving our workshop so finally had some time to go and see my car again. As ive got a new front end i need to redo all my engine/ suspension mounts so making a start on the engine.
So engine mounts, need to make some bits of tube to connect the 2 parts
Also have not actually tried the carbs on the head in the hole before, Thankfully they just about fit
Also slapped the rad in to check it still fits, Couldnt have been more lucky it just about fits
Hopefully have a bit more time on the mounts over the weekend, if i get out of gardening

Well did a little more on it today, workmate brought a welder round so i could tack up the engine mounts so thanks to him. Also got the new gearbox mount on, and tacked on the tca mounts. Not a massive amount of progress but better than nothing.
Tca/tension strut resting in position
Will try and get the engine mounts done next week at some point, then i can start on tension strut mounts
