please continue the proyect, I,m just about to buy a taunus (cortina) e
and i really want to know how difficult is to put a turbo engine and an independent rear suspension...

Hey guys,
Only just seen this as not been on here in a LONG time. Long and short of it is this,
I Did get into drifting in 2009 and have been doing it on a performing level ever since, attending shows, giving passenger rides and carrying out demonstrations.
HOWEVER, I do still have the Cortina and it is garaged and looks exactly as it did on my last update, I have EVERY intention of finishing and might start some more work on it again this year. I get attached to projects and won't give up on them.
Keep your eyes posted in 2012 for an update

Ok,
So I promised you all an update and that's what you've got. As you are aware from my previous posts I took up drifting in favour of finishing the Cortina. I have thoroughly enjoyed drifting in my Nissan Skyline R32 as it's a very capable car, however I have wanted to finish the Cortina.
So, I have decided to combine the two vehicles. So basically the front steering, suspension, rear suspension, engine and gearbox from the Nissan will be removed and fabricated into the Cortina.
The above car will now be ripped apart and re-incarnated into the Cortina. Both cars will be transported to the workshop this coming weekend for the transformation to begin.
This is the RB20 that will be rebuilt and going into the Cortina, those of you that are unaware the RB20 is a 2.0litre 6 cylinder turbo charged unit and is a very revvy engine easily capable of 400bhp without major work.
I'd be interested to get some feedback from you guys and opinions, pictures of the build will start as of next weekend.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your interest in this project. It is quite a bit different from the normal I know and that kind of makes it more interesting to me.
I said i'd be taking both cars to the engineering shop and that's exactly what i've done. Dropped them both off today. One to it's final resting place and one to be reborn
My truck and trailer ready for unloading.
Last look at the R32 before it's stripped out and cut up.
The Tina as she stands at present.
Tucked into the corner ready for work to begin on getting the R32 measured up and fitted in.

Update time,
Been stripping the Skyline down and removing pretty much every last piece i'm gonna need for the build, she's starting to look a little sorry for herself now though
The front end is all stripped down and marked up for cutting out the turrets, we did some measuring of the two vehicles and the width between the front chassis rails is nearly bang on. The Liner is 710mm and the Tina is 5mm thinner!
Not bad at all.
Took the front subframe off a complete unit to make it easier for measuring up against the Cortina, wanted to get a shot of the Cortina sitting over to see roughly how much different the track is but unfortunately the Cortina doesn't have turrets (as yet).
Then we took the rear subframe off, although might well replace this for a UK S13 rear subframe to do away with the Hi-Cas elimator arms. We will have to see.
Well, now the Skyline is all stripped and ready to be cut up, the fun can now begin and hopefully next update will have Skyline front turrets in the Cortina.

just read through this one and like a few others was gutted was not going to get done, but to me it is now a far better project with the skyline running gear and lump. it will be so cool when done , love it ,love it. love it.

Ok update time,
Slow progress, but progress all the same. Plans have been drawn, ideas have been thrown about and measurements have been taken. The Cortina has had to take a back seat due to full time business comittments from the engineers shop.
Having said that, the first cuts have been made to Tina. The inner wings have been cut to allow the Mcpherson struts to be placed. The Cortina doesn't have Mcpherson suspension to begin with so it all has to be altered. I was quite pleased with how close the track is on the original bodywork. Won't need too much flaring and arch work to cover the front axle at least.
I am going to need to modify the front diagonal tension rod plates as you can see from the picture they extend a bit out of the front. Nothing to worry about though.

We have an update, the engineers shop has been busy with contract work and that has to come first in times such as these. However this update is an accumulation of a few hours here and there.
Anyone who knows Cortinas will look at this pic and see that it now has Mcpherson struts which Cortinas never had. These are the original R32 turrets tacked into position before final welding.
Here's another closer up pic of the turret in.
Front R32 subframe and showing how it's been mounted.
Nice snug fit with the GTR rims and the Nissan 4 pot calipers on the Cortina.
Ever seen this before? An RB engine in a Ford Cortina.
Some modding to the bulkhead required and not a lot of room up front but quite a lot of room for the inlet manifold.
Opposite side, good amount of room for exhaust and Turbo.
Hopefully more updates to follow, cheers for looking.

Went over to the fab shop today, we wanted to meet to discuss best plan of action for fitting the rear suspension setup. It was decided that we would stick as planned with the R32 rear suspension setup which would mean losing most of the rear of the Cortina and space framing out the new setup. As you can see from the next pics that there isn't much in with regards to size of the R32 and Cortina. It's like it was meant to be there 
Here she is just resting on the R32 rear setup.
