Rained off today so i went and had a play, made up the brackets to hold the rad in and also made my heat shield, just need to cover it in that self adhesive heat proof matting, after this i pulled the engine and box out and stripped the engine bay ready to finish off the welding then onto painting the bay as all the mods are now complete, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss !!

yeah, to be honest it was to be different as most people wouldnt of taken on the project due to the amount of fab work to be done etc, plus you cant really get better than a good cossie lump for raw power, i know the gearbox is going to die but its a bit of fun people so all contribute your old good working boxes, lol, !!!!!!!!!!

yeah i know what you mean you can never do a pro job in a shed but it'll do for a thrash about beast, compressor is a twin cylinder type with a big tank so that helps.

Crazy Project m8 !

I was going to do the same thing on my fiesta,
but i guess i didnt have the balls to do it .

I cant wait to tell us how it drives.

**(when you turn left,
have you checked if the front right wheel rubs on the extended chassis leg?
just a thought.)**

It also looks good m8, i like it!

i completely agree !

there are many things that you can try in order to make it better,
such as spacers or different type offsets on the wheels.

looking forward to see it finished.

good project, just read the whole thread. I remember seeing a yellow escort with a YB in transverse at the NEC years ago, decent install- think yours is fantastic for a home build, credit to you mate. Are you running an alternator in std YB position as those pulleys stick out of the bay and there looks like no space for the alt.

alternator is mounted to the side of the yb where the power steering pump went, you can just see the back of it in one of the pics, just to let everyone know i have provisionally sold it as i was made a good offer for it, i am completeing the build to the same spec etc and will keep it for a week or so to have a play then she is off to scotland to live but hopefully he wont pay the deposit so i'll have to keep it
