Ok time for a quick update.
After i had stripped everything off the engine i started to take things into work to strip/clean/paint and rebuild now and again when it wasnt busy.
PAS pump - Started out covered in PAS oil and rust
Bit of a crap phone pic but you get the idea.
After it was stripped and cleaned and painted. The pulley/bracket was sent off for powder coating with a big pile of other stuff (will show those pics another time)
Thermostat housing - before, still fitted on engine.
After and good clean on the wire wheel.
In primer.
And a nice coat of shiny silver. Oh, that isnt nail polish before anyone asks
Got loads more pics of everything but Photobucket is being V slow now
Keep the comments coming.
More updates in a few days.

Got ryan to make up a loom extension for me already, also where do you get the cam sensor/trigger/spacer from? Looked on Mountune but could only see a price for the sensor.
Thanks

Piccies just for me?? I feel all important now!! lol
Cheers mate, i've been wondering how to rig my guage up for ages, it will be another little job for over the winter.
I can see you're putting some serious amounts of work into this car mate, have you got a timescale of when you want it on the road?
Karl

Yeah plenty of painting done at work, the bench was covered in paint dust
All plunge joints were stripped/cleaned/painted and rebuilt ages ago. They are wrapped up nice and warm now. I didnt find them too hard to put back together though. They definately need stripping down, the old grease was a real mess.
Thanks for the comments.

When i started i didnt intend to go this far with painting everything but when i started buying new bits and pieces i thought the old oily/rusty bits and pieces would look out of place. That and its easy to do it all at work when its quiet.

Kev,
Its all just rattle can stuff,
I think i used engine black enamel on the engine block,
Ford stratos silver on most parts,
5 wheel silver,
5 wheel steel on the bellhousing and diff,
Plastikote black,
etch primer,
VHT silver and black,
Also might have been some Toyota 209 Black.
I think there are others but cant remember what.
Any plans/updates on yours Kev?

'wow, i cant believe the amount of hard work you have put into this project. everything looks like new and it will be an amazing motor when its done! - but obviously not as good as the Pug 306 WRC edition!'
These are entirely my own views and absolutely not the views of anyone else .......such as Moonstone Mart for example. Thank you.
There u go, hows that ?
