Default Protecting from rust

I currently have my Escort cosworth in piece's, and I've came across a few parts that are rusty. I've ground them out with a wire wheel in a drill. But wondered what I can do about the parts I can barely get to, not even by finger tip. Then what is best to put on the metal to protect it the most, especially on the vunreable places like wings. Particularly over paint but before primer. Also I'm sure I've heard about protective clear plastic you can put over panels, on the inside edge of the wings and end of the body kit would be ideal.
Any advice would be great thanks

Try soaking the rusty parts in brick cleaner, you could try spraying a zinc rich primer on areas of metal before going over with primer.

All the bits that come off, have been blasted and plated befrore painting. But there's parts I can barely get to. I've found myself scrating with a small screwdriver, then trying to get rust eater in there over the weekend. Will paint I guess, then waxoyl. Hopefully if i miss any it wont worsen.
