i know someonw who sparyed the entrie underneath of their car with stone chip, but mixed the pain into the stone chip first so it was only a few coast rather than waiting for it to dry and then going over it again and again

Just done this

I was wondering about the back of the hubs to the arms where they've been painted/powercoated aswell?

But there was paint on that part of the standard rear arms!

flatten both the faces where they meet, otherwise you'll have adjustable shims like wot rainbird sells

For those of you who have been following all of this, I've now done everything I can do until the welding is done!

I doubt I'll be working on it during the evenings next week either as my work is very busy and I'll probably be working 8-10 every night next week!

Today though, I did the following!

Sprayed the konis, they are not this bright in real life!

I sprayed the bottom half of the tank and I'm very pleased with the results!

I painted the hubs silver today, much better I think

I got my epoxy mastic 121 for doing the underneath with, and my braided brake lines came too

I got some outdoor type paint too, thats guaranteed for 10 years, that is a pretty good match for magenta

One of mine was well dry,the grease had turned into black like treacle, and stunk of burning

believe me it dont look half as good now with my dirty paw prints all over it

rear beam is broms, as is the tca and compression struts. still have to fit the bladed arb to the front as this requires welding brackets to the chassis
unfortunately.

also got him to make the rose jointed arb drop links on the rear

Thanks Mart

I had the mastic stuff recommended to me by a mate, and he told me they only make it and sell it online (on that website above)

Here's what Mark said about it when he told me about it

You will not find it anywhere else as they make it and only sell online...you are definately better off buying it as its a encapsulation system that once painted on,you havent got to worry about it ever again...stone chip might start rusting through after a year i bought some of the epoxy mastic for a old mini i had and tested it by coating a surface rusted 4" square piece of metal and then putting it in a can of water...3 years later and it has not rusted i will definately be using it on my mexico.
