Time for another update,cleaned the car this morning clay etc black hole ,was in the sun and noticed the breather looked a bit silver on one side so deicided to take it off and give it another paint ,also spent alot of time on the detailing of the small bits getting them black etc.
Chrome battery surround removed and the clamps ,new clamps now in black with bolts

Dizzy chrome surround removed and replaced with anodized black one ,also dizzy casing sprayed black.

My throttle bracket is being carboned but not ready so a temp black one on for now,even painted the gaskets showing through black

Rocker cover bolts and washers all now anodized black and also lots of other bolts ,header tank, throttle body, fuel rail etc etc.
Popped over to rons today to do some bits on his car and was talking about heat wrap and he said he has some flame proof pectel style covering ,so i nabbed some off him for my throttle cable .

Massive amounts of thought and work gonna into this car and i really like some touches but i guess i'll be the first to say.........

Imo it "looks" cheap and tacky, obviously theres alot of effort, time and money gone into it and the rest of the car is awesome i just think its gone too far. The exact parts that i dont like would be the brake fluid resevoir cover and cap, the battery cover, the servo, wiper motor cover and strut brace. I'd prefere them just left standard providing they are clean, paint or powder coated satin or matt black.
Each to there own though, i thinking the lad who owns it is probably very happy with it.

I think that colour would look good on my mk1 gti engine (just put in a new gearbox that was meant to be nimbus grey but turned out a brighter, I like it though)
