Got to 500bhp with ease before the turbo started to surge

New turbo is on its way to do the job

Will resume dyno session with new turbo on Monday

DKE custom crank to reduced to 83.00m stroke
Block liners removed along with most of deck face and replaced with Ductile Iron Items from Darton Sleeves, and bored to 91.00mm.
Custom rods to give a Rod length/stroke ratio of 1.98. Custom pistons for 7.4:1 CR.
Ally main cap ladder remachined to allow fitment of 2" thick ally girdle. Head studs in main stud locations. Head anchorage now by M12 Cummins diesel studs (drilled deeper). Pace dry sump kit.

Top end is a development head by Jim Garrard at CNC heads, valve seats changed for Nibron, custom made Valves, my spec cams and valve train.

Inlet manifold is an early prototype from Cosworth America which I reworked and added the extra 4 injectors into (8x 625cc/m). Custom Fuel rails.

Exh manifold is 321 SS in 1"3/4 bore. Turbo is Turbonetics T72 with P trim turbine and 1.00 A/R housing (spec'd to suit my cams).

It will run on 102 Oct fuel without and help from NoS and should crack 700 without sweating too hard, but if 800 is close by, it may be given one last push

Interesting to see how he has re engineered what was a very under square engine into an over square engine and still managed a 2.16 litre capacity.

Lookss good. Can't wait for the price/availability of these engines to come down to where zetecs are now.

Already on 1.00 a/r! Hard to go much bigger on that turbo.

Other issues making it surge, surely?

Perhaps the CNC works on a flow rig but does it work on an engine head

Alot more, but its lighter and has a better rod ratio so its potentially a more effiecient engine.

They are getting 1200bhp out these in the States apperently
