309 is same as 306? I'm doing a beam rebuild over christmas so migh go for 25mm torsion bar as the coil overs are going on the front.

the 306 is a wider beam than the 309, and wont fit mine.

when you see my car, you will notice i have ZERO room for a wider beam..lol, but it does look cool and wide at the rear

i think the 309 at 20 and 21??? though i'd have to check.

I think 309 is 21 torsion Bar and I think 306 is 21mm. will find out soon, Might just rebuild it with standard torsion bar and try it and then uprgade it it feels sloppy on track. not sure!

my 205 with the same engine passes a 306 fairly easy

i did this at donny few weeks back, to say i was shocked is an understatment

but, obviouslly i dont know how hard he was trying, i know i was 110%

if ya looking for a 306 track prep or more idea's, check my mates car out

http://talk-torque.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1912

funily enough thats where my engine came from

are you keeping the 306 gti6 engine? if so what mods you got planned?

My efforts will be to make it safe and handle well to start with. I do have throttle bodies and cams wil be going in but not until I've done a couple of track days and got the car set up well.

Thats a good link, I see some of the pics before. not so sure about the ERW tubing in the cage though for the extras Shifter is similar to what I got planned
Be fun trying to keep up with yours in the heavy weight! lol

why dont you like it??? its seamed tubing, in a crash that will split unlike a CDS tube. Its not major as its not in specced tubes but I just would not do that in a cage.

why is the shifter like that? can that mod be done to the 205??? Makes it more positive and you can make the ratio suit the driver but needs solid mounted engine! Failing that I might make my own shifter but uses very good quality push/pull stainless cables so that I can maintain some bushing on the engine.

with my limited track experience, i sure you'll be fine
All my experience is using the rear wheels to drive I'll be quicker in reverse!

finally got back to working on the car after a xmas break, well work on the house

not much, progress but really happy that all the fuel fittings in the car are now finished and it's just the engine bay fuel system that needs doing

both pumps are wired up now with their own fuse and relay's

hopefully more done this weekend

Was it surging before, or is this "preventive medication"?

The harsh snatching and torque steer, if you had this when acclerating hard out of a apex, dissapeared altogether on mine.

Leaves the car feeling alot more controlable and smoother when power comes in. Good for around 400hp in a fwd application too..

il give that a test this year

sweet

it's the suspension, i'm more excited abou tho

as the old fronts where shocking, yet still did quite well

the new setup should make it a whole new car

and as a package is going to be awesome.........

i hope
