Been down to fit the wheels on the car, need to find the bolts to fit the rear, should hopefully be doing that tomorow then getting it on the trailer to take it to my parents so the buildup can start!

They are Wolfrace Urban Racer things at the moment, but I'm gonna be swapping them for something a little bigger(18"), I like the Pro Race 1.2 (in black) at the moment...

Hi mate just wondering how you set the rear end up as to me it looks incredibly high at the moment.
I do love the idea of the project though, should be really cool when it's completed.

It's not setup at the moment, I'll be taking it all off again to clean it up, It's on coilovers so the height can be adjusted when it's got all the weight in it

 

what steering rack did you use? i'm thinking about putting a yb + mt75 in my rs2000 4x4 was thinking of using a doner sierra for the bulkhead and crossmember also

 

It's an Escort/Sierra Cosworth rack, The shell has been modified so it uses all Cosworth parts and they bolt straight on. (No donor metalwork though, whats the point of welding in 20y/o rusty metal )

 

Looks like it's sorted then mate, I was gona do one myself but thought that I should carry on with all the other projects of mine before I decide to start something new.

removed all the pipes again and painted the tunnel and all the new bolt-holes

Nope, just when it get's done really, I want to do it right instead of rushing it.

 

nice work stoo..been following it for ages like...im doing a mk1,but keeping it rwd just for pure lunacy as will only use it in the summer..keep an eye on me over next 5years...

 

Good good, glad to see someone who is prepared to take their time with a project and when all is said and done it will be a great motor with all of the time and effort that you are putting into it.

Updates won't be for a while, I'm back off home to Chester tomorrow so I'll be ~100miles away .

I should be back soon though, when I need to get the Cabby painted at the rear (some people just cannot park).
