AustenW: What compression do you run or did you run in your old spec even? I'm aiming for 400bhp ish on a 2.1 16v with similar bore size to a zetec and am wondering whether 9:1 is too high.

Stick with 7.5:1 and you won't have any problems

I'm limited to space hence the use of the HKS filter, and I think they look cool too.

They have been dyno proven by Abbey Motorsport to well over 750bhp with little loss in power so should be fine for me. I'll just have to clean it regularly

Water pump is straight from Cosworth

Internally its much the same as standard but the inlet and outlet have been cnc machined to increase flow

Caps are from the USA and are for strength. If you saw the standard items you would realise how weak they are on the Blacktop

The silvertop uses much thicker maincaps which will be stronger though

Was going to say, my caps are huge

Looks good, some nice bits going into that

Will it be used in competition at all?

Wicked project
Did the block come with semi-finished main bearing tunnel or are you going for oversize mains bearings ?

Awesome work mate - having just read through your parts and engine spec list - you really have done your homework. The stuff you've put into this really is the best on the market

I've decided to change the cam setup now

Although the standard set up is more than adequate I've decided to change them for a different duration and lift package.

Ordered my billet Cams today which should take 2 weeks.

I'm not saying what profile they are but they are far from standard

Going a custom grind route this time too

Got this I'm selling at cost if anyone is interested

With buying it, carrage, duty and Vat it stands me at Ł250

Good for 1200bhp

3" inlet and outlet

Unfortunately it won't fit in the nosecone with a dry sump tank

Just a question but you seem to have searched the globe to find all the right bits - how? How do you know who to contact to get the right bits for the job? Is it just endless web trawling?

Do you have to know what bits you need or can you say "i want to do this/i'm looking for something like" and just trust their judgement?

Just asking the q as you really have done your homework to get the best at the best price too.

To ask peoples opinion is just a waste of time IMO as half the so called expert haven't a clue what there on about

I could write a long list but dont want to put any noses out of joint

Some lovely parts raining in now What do you plan to do in terms of charge cooling now, or will you just have a smaller one made up? The oil tank will take up loads of your space there now I daresay

New Chargecooler came this morning

PWR chargecooler from Australia

This size has been used on 900bhp Evo's running 9's

I should just be able to make it fit in the engine bay

Hi from the U.S. , good write up so far. Been watching the thread for awhile.
Focussport has done some bad ass porting to the svt head, and has gotten more flow from it then the ford racing cnc head.

what are you using to run the c.o.p. 's? megasquirt?

Head will be from CNC heads in the UK, 5 week of development was done on two ports to get the most out of them by one of the best guys in the business

The Coil on Plug is fired by my MBE 970 as used in British Touring Car
