My 3i
Hello all
Not everyone's favourite chariot I guess...most people seem to have cossies/S1/S2s etc on here, but here are some pics of my project.
I'll have had it 2 years in May, and spent the first year replacing all the wheel bearings/brake linings/bushes/gearchange etcetc to make it a decent driver.
Last summer i did most of the structural work (no digi cam then tho!!), replacing the inner sills, repairing the footwells and floor and giving it all 7 coats of primer/hammerite and a gallon of waxoyl.
It's currently got s2 front brakes, braided hoses and I have fitted new bumpers, wheel arch liners, all new copper brake pipes and a decent alarm and remote locking.
Plans for this year are new gearbox (old one getting tired), possibly a 2.0 ZVH or turbo conversion, sort out a decent dash, and finish the welding by doing the screen surround and the rear valance, and possibly getting it sprayed if funds allow.
Anyway...ta for the other pics, many of which inspired me to carry on welding.
Cheers
Ant

Ta for all the kind words....shame she'll never be an unwelded example but at 23 years old in March I guess that is expecting too much.
It's going to end up being a more long term resto and I have given myself another 2 years to get it how I want it to be..thankfully it was well rest proofed underneath from before I got it.
Mk3s have always been my favourite escort and I couldn't possibly let it go now.
It would be good to see some others on the rounds this year.
Cheers
