A few pics 16v engine build
After a dodgey valve decided to drop its head into the bottom end off my 1.6CVH wipeing out my freshly built engine last year I decided it was the ideal time to move to a 2.0 16V.
A few pics of my new build which should be ready to roll come sping time
Gated Sump being prepped
Crank after ballancing.
Block
Pistons & Rods(AVA spec)
Inlet and boddies (AVA spec)
Tubular in process off being adapted to fit 16V
hope you like

Power wise I'm not sure, Turbo to be decided upon, Injectors will likely be the greens since they are there and see what comes from them.
All im looking for is nice power delivery and usable power for the road and track, the bottom end is spec'd for a lot more power than I'm likeley to chuck at it.
Better to be strong & have the potential for more power If and when I decide I want/need it.

I registered on this site after I saw your engine. Just wanted to let you know I really admire the work you've done to that Zetec - everything looks top notch.
Are you planning on running billet main caps? Is the block a Cosworth/CGI block (because of the oil squiters)? Looks like your using a stock flywheel - any reason? If doing a turbo application, why did you decide on such long runners before the turbo (because of thermal efficiency)?
Here's a run down of my Zetec block:
Focus Power block with machined oil gallies
Focus Power modified oil pump
Diamond 8.0 Pistons w/ Total Seal rings
Eagle Rods w/ ARP hardware
Focus Power billet main caps w/ ARP hardware
Focus Power cyro treated crank
Focus Sport flywheel w/ ARP hardware
Ishihara-Johnson zero clearance teflon crank scraper
Ishihara-Johnson vertical surge baffle with horizontal trap door
Zetec head:
Ford Racing head with 1mm oversized valves
Crower Stage 2 cams
Focus Central Adjustable cam gears
Crower titanium springs and retainers
Everything else:
Focus Central 65mm throttle body
Ford Racing intake manifold
Tubular manifold for the GT28RS/GT30R

Here was me thinking that this thread had dropped away to the depths
Cheers everyone for your kind comments, its appreciated
i tell ya what take both and i'll track the one you dont choose...and to be fair i'll pay the track costs and fuel lol
good shit tho. glad its coming together!
Aye Aye Steve that sounds like a plan, would be fun, undecided on what to do, can maybe sort it so we get the best of both worlds.
Looks to me like your building a bit of a monster yourself Best of luck with your build
Thanks for your interest I cant however take credit for the work as its all down to AVA who have spec'd and built the engine.
I'll do my best to answer your questions
No! not billet main caps
The block is the later of the Zetec's rather than the CGI block, the oil spray jets come as standaard on this later block BONUS
The reason for the selection of flywheel(which has been modified) is purley down to the fact that I couldnt justify the expenditure of an uprated ZT clutch especialy when I had a perfectly good/new uprated clutch from my previous build & have a couple of strong non MTX, ATB equiped boxes sitting.
The manifold design: Thermal dynamics do play a part, there is however more to the design, specificaly relating to revs. Its not my place to divulge the ins and outs as a lot of R&D has gone into the design as i'm sure you can appreciate.
Rossco its a complete Blacktop, it would be nice to have a rod and piston just to look at, they are Sweeeet
Cheers everyone for your kind comments, its appreciated

Is it a whole black top Zetec you are using or a mix of the two?
