Ill post it on cavalierturbo.com and see if anyone still has it... the engine has probably been ripped out and put in a nova now though

My car used to be owned by Gavin! It was his development and flagship demo car ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
If you look on his site, all the pics of a blue cav and the ones of the FMIC are all this one

A mint standard one goes for that sort of money, I know you never get back money from mods, but mine is worth alot more than a standard one, its got over 4k of other parts

Ive seem minted cavy turbos for Ł1700 ,Ł2k at the very most ,think its just a cheaper way of tryin to achieve cossie performance ,i dont blame peeps for doing this ,just never gonnae get the credit of a cosworth as most peeps love ,even if they aint owned one !!!
Ps i like the single boar exhaust on ur one as when a vauxhall has twin pipes they always sit squint and look shite ,nice one

Having owned a saph cossie too, I can assure you I didnt get it as a cheap alternative!
I can honestly say that the cav drives, handles, is built better, not as dated inside as the cossie felt.
As much as I still love saph cossies, I wouldnt buy another one (I said that before I brought the cav too)
I am fully aware that the cossie will always get apprechaited more by the general public, but thats not always a good thing....

Oh im not sayin u bought it as a cheap alternative ,some peeps do thats all as a quick fix for power , and i do aggree with the status of the motor ,u park the car in a car park if ur away to pics etc etc and u sit and wonder if ur chariot is still gonnae be fine when u get back !!
The good thing with the cav is it is very like the saph cos now ,getting rarer than rockin horse shit

what happens if and when the transfer box fails, is it a massive bang and/or will the car be unable to move ?
im looking into them myself, and i hear the 4x4 system is the only concern compared to other things, when in ownership...

I remember years ago u never saw any cavy turbos or cossies around here, maybe once in a blue moon then for such a rare car there ended up being 3 cavys in the same town ,2 westminster blue and a maroon one ,all were older very mature ownerships aswell, same if u saw a cossie years ago ,it seemed to be young farmers who owned the cossies around here when i was a lot younger ,hidden away in a barn somewhere ,lol think some still are aswell !!
I only know of one cavy turbo in the district here and its white ,im sure its pushin 300 ponies aswell ,but the guy has owned quite a few quick motors over the years ,escy cossies, evo etc etc !!

One of the signs that its failed is it dumping all the power steering fluid on the road!
It is still driveable though, all you would have to do is pull out fuse 19 to disengage the 4x4 ecu and it will run 2wd.
Have a look on www.cavalierturbo.com for buying and maintenance guides

Yeah, its as simple as that!
Pretty much all the ones that are only running 2wd have just pulled the fuse out.
Some people have put in a switch so you can choose between 2 and 4wd, as you dont always need it to be 4x4 unless its wet or you are launching hard, then its less unnessessary wear on the box

thats a damn easy fix then, i would be tempted to use FWD most of the time....
saves less worry about equal tyre wear etc...
one less thing to worry about, which is what i like. and i dont really mind silly power FWD cars, as im used to it from ERSTs. but switchable is the best of both worlds... Fiat 20V T coupes do it, and manage more or less ok, apart from eating tyres.

Obviously if you want to switch between you need to observe the tyre rules.
I run mine in 4x4 all the time, its not a big deal to check the pressures once a week (should be doing that on any car really anyway!) and then just rotate the tyres every 1000 miles or so. (Again, not a major job, and also gives the opportunity to give the rear of the alloys a clean).
The other option is to get a locked box which removes the hydrolic side of things on the txb, you still need to do the tyres, but there is alot less to go wrong (but its not switchable)

i dont understand why they the tyres must all be the same make, rating and tyre model.... like all 4 tyres...
the TXB cannot tell what brand tyres they are, its not like if you fit different ones a warning sensor goes off. surely pairs is good enough.
like if one blew out, you have to replace the other 3 immediately too, which is damned costly

What fucks the box is uneven wear, this is caused by tyres that have a different radius.
Obviously different makes have different tread patterns, so even though they could both be 205/40/ZR17 in size, they could still be different due to the tread.
So, obviously for the same reason, you have to replace all 4 at once.
BUT, remember if you can only afford to replace one at that time, get a cheap one and pull the fuse till you can afford 4

ya know in that video of your car...
at any point do you wind it up to 310bhp.... or were you limited by the roads ?
cos it seemed quick but it was hard to gauge just how quick.... apart from some woman saying she is needing to change her underwear

Used to love cav turbos as well guys. The ex was always into vauxhalls so thought about a cav turbo. Heart wasn't in it as was always a Ford man so bought an S2 RST and replaced it last year with a small turbo Escos which is now stage 1.
Ironically though i know the car quite well as i pestered the guy to sell it to me for about a year but then he offered it to me about a fortnight after buying the S2RST, by that time i had fell for the fords again. The car was owned by a guy i used to work with in T-mobile (Greenock) approx 4-5 years ago, think he was from Kilmacolm. Don't know exactly what spec it was at the time but i know he bought it bog standard. Took it up to approx 260bhp and it was actually him who did the mesh on the front. If i remember rightly when the mesh was painted it never really turned out right and ended up an almost sky blue colour compared to the car. When i knew the car it was 'the' cav turbo to have, glad to see its still about and looking sweet.
