looking good mate, still no news from Burtons
Gonna give them hell down the phone AGAIN Tomorrow. just waiting on the fan and hoses, If you can could you order one, just to see if its only me that is having trouble or if its a general thing lol
I will be up at SCA in norwich again soon so will order the hoses there, fed up with the time wasting from Burtons. I am sorry its taking this long, i need the rad out of my way aswell, its gathering dust in my dining room.

Don't worry about it Scott
I've brought all my bits and pieces from Ford at the W.end. Gasgets, nuts n bolts, fuel filter etc. Came to Ł57.00 in the end
I'm headin up to Sheffield this W.end so I could pop in to your on the way through and drop off the intercooler to ya.
Is the rad ready then as I thought you had to get the mounting points for the fans welded on?

I'm well chuffed with the exhaust. Cost my Ł160.00 off of a guy off the RS Owners Club and is brand new
bargain.
A four incher would have been nice but couldn't justify the extra Ł140.00. The tail pipe doesn't actually stick out much at all and looks spot on to me. I've seen some S1's where the tail pipe sticks out a mile and looks really crap.
I'm not sure whether to take off the deflector or not. One it may leave a mark on the roof and two, it does help protect the sunroof. I might take it off when I do the full rebuild but will leave it on till then me thinks

I must get it valued actually
One of my mates has a cav turbo. Bloody quick and very
in my opinion. Shame they made them with a 70/30 torque split though. My mates is running around about 240bhp and kicks my S1's ass. Then again my S1 is only putting out about 170bhp
It up to you mate. Depends what you want from the car. A S1 is alot cheaper to run and modify. Cav's cool and quick as standard but expensive to uprate and the 4x4 can be very expensive when it goes wrong. Totally your choice, both cool cars

Not too sure how many S1's were produced on a D plate but I'm sure I read not that long ago that there are only 24 left on a D plate or something like that

I've also got a mate with a MKIII Astra which has had a 2.0 turbo conversion. I think he spent around about 7K on the engine, but it is a full race spec jobbie. Thats running just under 400bhp but is capable of more. He has just left it at that for reliability and doesn't feel the chassis could handle any more.

If i was gonna spend 12k it would have to go on a Escort cossie or a saffie cossie not a cav turbo (sayin that though my everyday car is a 51 plate astra 2.2 sri) !!! But everyone has there own opinion !! I have a mate in stoke who has a 450bhp 3 dr cossie in moonstone blue and that spins in 4th with low boost !!! So that would be a good race between the two !!!!

I didn't think he was going to break it
I think it was D777 SWL or something like that. I thought he was going to restore it
I was speak to Derek the S1 registar and he said there was only 11 D plate S1's left so Ian would be a T**T to break that.
