I thought it was odd that they did not protect the wiring with a sheath and that they did not have rubber grommets where the wires came out of the chassis. They have crimped on the connectors so it doesn’t sound like they will remove the wiring for painting?

maybe they will add split convoluted tubing?

I noticed the wiring issue as well.
I think they spent so long thinking about routing they missed the obvious.
But given thier track record they'll spot and rectify it.

I think they could probably remove all the pins from the connectors and pull the loom out, then wrap it .
Can't see them painting it with the wiring inplace.

Can't see them painting it till about 2021

I’m sure with there attention to detai so far the loom will get suitably protected and wrapped. I think they will wait till all the wiring is finished then remove it for shell to be painted and finish prior to final fit.

yes, really clever that, I would never, ever, have thought of something like that, especially the bearing to support the side load on the pulley.

GT35! Yes I saw that but didn't want to put a spoiler.

When they designed the exhaust manifold they said space was a premium and they would need to fit a smaller than OE turbo?

We all know a GT35 has a 4" inlet......

I think it was always going to be turbo, probably why they didn't mention specs as they built the engine.
I think Abe Lincoln brought it over on plane for them.

It'll have been a waste of 6 years and 4 x 4 if it's any less than that.

Yes, I agree. I always felt that 200 bhp even in a little mini seemed too little for all that work.

the turbo was a gtx3582r, so i'd be surprised if they were aiming for anything under 500bhp

I need to find time to catch up with this and the truck episode, just not enough hours in the day.

The gt35 turbo's I thought was 5-600bhp cars or they was supposed to be at least on 5 cylinder s2 engines?

With those 2, I don't think you can assume anything.
I bet they've been arguing about the colour for 6 years.

I'd guess a Mini looking colour but with a modern twist, say like the 1980's Leyland Brown but with some sparkle.

my guess was due to the racing green colour on the coolant pipes.

Well after all that work, they just and go and chuck a couple of tins of paint on it and give it a bit of a polish.
