I thought I would post a few pics of my puma. I bought it last year when the first divvys in the bodyshop was taking the piss so I had to buy a car.
It was a 1 lady owner from new with 86k on the clock. Ive had it since last August. People might take the piss but you need to drive one to see how much fun they are.
Did a track day in it in November at Donnington. The mrs span the car round and we ended on the grass then back onto the track with cars coming towards us lol.
Then I went on track and just came out the pits and there was smoke everywhere. I could smell coolent. Got recovered back to the pits and the hcv pipe snapped. A 10mm socket came to hand to join the pipes then we went back out on track.
They are defo fun. One thing I would change if I could do it again was replace the rear axle bushes. Imo there way to soft and there is still movement in the axle.
Its just a typica Ford less. I went looking all over the country for a good one. This was the only one that didnt have very bad rusty arches. Some of the pumas I seen were just shocking.
Looks like a nice tidy car! But agree with most peoples comments about lowering it, there's just something about lowering a car that improves look and makes you love the car more.

Lowering a car is to improve handling and not looks imo.
Alot of people use spacers to get the wheels to sit better in the arches. I dont know if these impove handling.
I did both Glenn as I fitted axle spacers on the rear and a 7j wheel running 45 profile tyres on 16s and left it at std ride height, no spacers on front mind as they are not needed with a 7j wheel

I might look for a set of axle spacers now. Did you notice if the handling was any better.
regards the spacers, the earlier cars came with a narrower rear beam from the mk4 fiesta and ran a 10mm spacer. yours will have the later beam which is wider by design with no spacer. ive got the 20mm spacers on an early beam on mine (fitted the early beam as i got some bargain coilovers) so effectively 10mm wider than standard. i overhauled everything at the same time, new front lower arms, poly rear beam bushes, spacers, coilovers and new top mounts alround and the transformation was awesome. (plus it looks loads better proportion wise) with a few simple bits these cars really handle! id recommend even just fitting lowering springs as i put apex springs on before the coilovers and even that helped!
how much did you have to grind off the calipers to get the 300mm brakes under the standard 9 spokes mate?
