Update...
On my last trip to MSD to have my car live mapped, I had some issues due to BD10 Cams that were fitted, they seemed to be holding the car back. after all the hard work I had put into the car i wanted it done right. The BD10's may have been able to be adjusted but I didn't have adjustable Pulley’s fitted at the time. So I took the car home, fitted new cams from Newman, AB07 spec inlet and BD8 exhaust, added new followers, I also fitted adjustable pulley’s and a Turbosmart Boost controller...then took her back to be finished...
So very early on Tuesday morning (2:30am) I set off to MSD in Blackpool with my trusty Sapphire in tow, to have also have wasted spark fitted, the live mapping finished, as well as having ALS and launch control fitted....
(this pic is from last time I went to MSD hence date/time)
Wasted Spark now Fitted (hate the blue leads!)
On to the Rollers
Left MSD about 5:30pm, got back home around 11:30PM Long day so left the car outside on the trailer for the night.
Next morning after a good rest, the car looked good and I couldn’t wait to test drive her...
Now worthy of the small MSD logo...
All that effort for a sticker
Incidentally I was really impressed with the Diesel Q7..She covered some 600 miles on one tank of fuel while towing the Cosworth.
Admittedly it’s got a big tank but I do think at an average of 31mpg is pretty damn good going...
After a quick test drive the car now drives spot on. Massive big thanks to James and Stu and the crew at MSD. Brilliant service, super friendly, approachable, helpful. The car was booked in for two days but I was really happy with the effort the guys made to get me in and out in one day. And I'm glad to report no cold start issues at all! I for one would never have my Cosworth mapped anywhere else...thanks again MSD, a massive day trip for me but well worth it!
Oh and the power, she made 443BHP with 418ftlb at the fly. Plenty for me in my RWD Sapphire. I really pleased..and the ALS, I seriously doubt I'll get tired of the pops and bangs...
