What a dangerous breed! Ban them all!!!!!

Stupid media and moronic opinions!

A dog can only be kicked so many times before it turns yet people blame the dog/breed.

People do need educating on owning a dog maybe a campaign by the goverment. When we sell dogs we make sure the new owners know everything and they have a life time of support from us.

Some people think spoiling a dog is right and they have a good dog, very wrong dogs learn like kids do and a spoilt child will lash out if there told no, same with a dog. Bad owners come at both ends of the spectrum.

I'm not like that no but I don't see what's wrong with the people that do?
If I had a pic of my staffy with my little girl on my photobucket I prob would of posted it and had a rant about how it's the wrong people buying dogs that shouldn't have them ect.. Just didn't find it very nice as I can see why pics have been posted by others in relation to the topic

It's the owners who are at fault the majority of the time.
Every fucker gets a dog, that's the easy part, but raising a dog to have a good temperament is another thing, and so many people just aren't educated or are a waste of space.
Unfortunately, it's certain breeds of dogs that end up destroyed and in the media. If its large or strong jawed and not always placid (i.e rottweiler, alsation, bull mastiff, staffie etc) then there is the potential to do serious harm, and in the wrong hands it happens.
A Labrador could be dangerous, but thankfully they're usually so laid back and sweet natured that it doesn't happen.
A snappy little terrier is only not dangerous because it's small.

like you say any fucker can get a dog. if i was to come across john there above with his half dozen dogs jumping about how could i tell if he was a responsible owner or not before they either mauled me or licked me to death? i cant so all dogs should be muzzled in public, its an easy solution to random bites/attacks.

I don't agree with muzzles but I have always thought every dog should be on a lead! I nearly had to muzzle mine as he gets mistaken of having pit in him (which he hasn't) every time I walk him it's the little yappy small syndrome dogs that growel or go to attack him.. Every dog has teeth so every dog is capable if something triggers but muzzles being compolsery to all dogs isn't fair on the responsible owners that have taken the time to search the breed of dog they bought and trained it ect u know?

why isnt it fair? its not like theyre having their teeth removed with rusty pliers? its a simple painless addition to also having a lead and will stop random biting/attacks and it would also stop your dogs being bitten by other dogs so everyones a winner. and like ive said before how can i tell if your a responsible owner or not if your dogs coming towards us? and if its in a muzzle i dont need to be on alert to boot it in the head if it lunges at my kids

Muzzles won't do anything except annoy most dogs.
If you see a dog your not sure about then walk around it not straight past it. Simple.
Punish the bad owners not the dog.

how wont a muzzle stop a dog from biting? personally id have thought real responsible owners would be fine about using such an easy solution to the problem that gives their prefered breed such a bad name ?

The problem is the muzzle.
It's just not needed. Most dogs feel threatened being on a lead never mind being muzzled.

im not thinking about the dog, im thinking about people and the continuing of dog attack type stories in the press shows something certainly is needed plus your dog might feel threatened but it wont get harmed as other dogs will also be muzzled.
talk of registration systems and weeding out iresponsible owner is all well and good but itll never happen as it would be time consuming, expensive and difficult to police.

And how is it fair a good dog being muzzled? its like a person having to go to prison just cos other people do bad in the world so u have to be punished too? might not be best example but u get my drift..

Nail on the head. The media!

Responsible owners keep the dog away from what may kick them off.
Mine doesn't like other dogs, so I avoid other dogs when out. No problem. She loves people so no issue. If I muzzle her people will automatically feel in danger of her when there is none which makes it a bad situation and socialising for the dog.

That's my view with mine. If I'm wrong then ill happily have positive critism.

Bad owner every time a dog just needs a pack leader if you understand your dog then you can read them if you know dogs you know you must be the alfa and if you have kids then they need to respect that any animal has feeling and a temperment .

I'm quite a stocky bloke with a skin head. Maybe because people like that are view as throwing punches now and then I should walk about in hand cuffs?

Another example of what you said x

its not the media that bites people they just report it.the medias way of 'sexing' up stories to sell papers doesnt disguise that fact. i keep hearing responsible this and responsible that but it means nothing really. everyone thinks theyre the most responsible person out there and their dog would never snap and attack , its everyone else thats not so its other peoples problem.its similar to drivers, everyone thinks theyre david coulthard, its everyone else on the road thats shit drivers!

that might have been funny if it made any sense.
a dog thread is what it is in the o/p. its all the other dog owners that always feel the need to post up pics of theirs being soft every time dogs are mentioned as if it somehow disproves the fact that dogs can attack and cause serious harm that im talking about and indeed the general jist of the o/p and going back to the pic the o/p posted i would think the owner of that dog is irresponsible as how could he guarantee that dog wont turn and bite? that fact that a parent shouldnt allow their kid to carry on like that in the first place is a bad parenting issue as well as the irresponsible owner issue..

if its the law its the law regardless if your a 60 year old lady with a jackrussell or a chav with a pitbull. failure to comply would result in losing the dog to be rehoused with a more responsible owner and it would be much easier to spot a dog without a muzzle than it is to try and judge every dog and its owner thats coming towards you.
you know its sensible and its easy and painless, but youll be just like all selfish dog/animal owners who think its their right to do as they want regardless of anyone else .its just you wont admit im right....
