Hey all! Newbie posting some pics up of my motor! I've had it a few months now. Bought it off my best mate who owned it since 2002. Any comments welcome.. (good or bad! )

was driving my truck on 31st dec around Grays, you were in front of me, looks a real clean car mate, never seen a mk6 with sills as good as yours, when i first see the car for sale on ebay wasn't really keen on the twin pipes but they really suited the car seeing it up close, plus sounded nice too.

I'm a real picky sod when it comes to mk6 escorts and I have to say yours does look good and for radiant red to shine like that is great, only pet hate is cutting holes in the OE shelf as it spoils the looks and finish, stealth shelf would be far better if you must have 6x9s and half tints would finish off the rear lights a treat to match your smoked headlights

Cheers mate! The twin pipes are a bit boomy when cruising at 70 but I love the sound of 'em otherwise!.. And it's something different! The sills were repainted a couple of years ago I think!.. There wasn't any rust but there were a few stone chips, I think that's what my mate said!

I'm not that happy with the shine in those pics! They were from just after I picked it up and hadn't polished it properly! I got some autoglym hd wax for Christmas and did a quick go with it (after a srp coat and a turtle wax ice coat!! ) and it came out better! Previous owner did the shelf! I wanna cover it with a stealth panel, or ideally get a stealth shelf! Trouble is the moolah isn't exactly abundant at the moment! I might do the lights at some point aswell! Just trying to put my stamp on it over time!

on any car there is room for improvement thats for sure after all at least its minor things and when you get a chance tidy up that air intake on the front bumper looks a bit rush jobby at the moment, how do you find the braking on this as all the non ABS escorts I have driven have been needing a anchor

Everything on the car was done by the previous owner, so I will eventually get round to sorting the little bits out! Might stick the cold air trumpet behind the lower middle grill so it's a bit more subtle, then I'll either get some original fogs for it or I quite like the look of some round "ring" lights to stick behind the fog lamp mesh!? The braking ain't too bad. I don't really boot it around too much so haven't really had to do any high speed braking!
Anyone know where I can get some Genuine ford luxury mats from? I tried ford but they don't even list 'em anymore!?

Looks really good. I think it looks pretty smart with no rear spoiler. Wheels look great. Super clean. Twin pipes are not as good.

if you dont fit fogs then that would be my choice behind them, as for mats http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford...4908_c_180.htm or ebay

??? They WERE taken last year.. December 2012! I took them at Tilbury Fort in Essex, the car's been in Norfolk for the last 14 years until I picked it up in November.. So unless my mate brought it down and took the pics exactly the same as I have I don't think so! I remember He posted it up on a forum when he was trying to sell it so maybe you saw it there?

Cheers for the comments so far people! I wasn't sure on the twin pipes at first but it's something different! and besides.. It'll take a lot of money, which I haven't got, to source another exhaust and rear bumper!! I like it for now and each to their own and all that!

A bit sunny today so I gave the motor a wash and polish! Done me usual ritual of.. Rinse with wash and wax in the jet wash detergent bottle, leave to soak for 5 mins, jet wash off, wash with bucket/hot water/shampoo/Microfibre mitt/detail brushes, then jet wash rinse, dry off with squeegee and Microfibre chamois, polish with autoglym super resin polish, buff off with Microfibre cloth, polish with turtle wax ice, buff off with Microfibre cloth, polish with autoglym hd wax, buff off with Microfibre cloth and stand back and enjoy!! Took some pics of the hd wax on but none yet of it buffed off. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow of the shine (or if it's been raining, some beading!) Only phone pics today but I'll take some better tomorrow hopefully!

Here's some pics from today. It did rain last night but after I'd put the wax on yesterday, the rain mainly all beaded off!

Had a bit of a buftying session today! Out at 10am, finished at about 4pm! Took the trumpet from the fog light hole and tucked it behind the bumper! Then put the blanks in.. And while I had the bumper off I took the arch liners out and cleaned them.. I took pictures before but forgot to take pics of after!

The trumpet before..

The trumpet removed and the blanks in..

The arch liner before..

Arch liner before and after..

After the polishing!..

nice clean example that fella u should be proud.normally mk6s look odd without boot spoiler but yours somehow pulls it off well.only critisism is the air intake.bit too big in my opinion but its your car,u like it so funk the haters

Cheers for the comments! IMO it now looks smoother at the front without the intake trumpet! I'll try and get some pics of the cleaned inner arches at some point!

Stunning simply stunning!

Really do want a escort now after seeing this one.

Was thinking it needs a boot spoiler but after looking through all the pics decided it does not.
