Thumbs up Donington Pro pics Saphy cos

Some pictures from Donington on the 30th, it was a sad day as this is my last Trackday in her before i move to Oz & am forced to sell my pride & joy!
Going to miss all my mates & track day action SOOOO MUCH but a big thanks to all for making this a great day even if it was slightly ruined by the rain so i ended up just pottering as getting the power down was nigh on impossible, big sideways action!

Car looked like it was going well all day.

It was a pain when a dry line appeared it would start to rain.

I spent most of the afternoon in the other saph that was on track.

Im moving to Perth west Austraila pal

Thanks for all your nice coments lads very kind of you, and will see if i can carry on with the blue oval in Oz! I looked into & would have imported the Cossie with me but thier strict laws on modifiying means they would have turned it away at the port!!

you may want to go down the personal import way as the rules are somewhat less restrictive regarding modifications if you reallly want to hang onto it, can give you some emails of a few guys that have recently imported cars here to give you an idea, what year is your cossie?? as i know anything after 89 creates problems but i got my 90 4x4 saph in from new zealand as a personal import, as for the rs scene in aus it is thriving just a greater distance to go for meets but that's where the fun feel free to pm if you have any questions

Cracking pics mate, did see you have a bit of a sideways moment coming onto the start finish straight

I would seriously look into taking the Saff to OZ, if you do Facebook then have a look on the Australian RSOC page. Great bunch of lads that will help you as much as possible

Good luck in OZ

Lol as you would know m8 it was soooo hard to put the power down & keep it straight!! I have loads of footage but its all abit drab as it looks like im Miss Daisy driving but i will put some on youtube soon!

I have looked at getting the Cossie over there but they have changed the Pre 1989 modifiying law from what i can gather so i have been looking at getting a Mondeo XR5 when im out there to replace my Titanium X Sport i have got in the Uk.

I will look up the Australian RSOC on face book thanks for that info, its good to know the Ford scene lives on out there!

If you can't Import a modified car can you modify something while you are there ?

Also Wayne Champion is another person who will help you in Oz.

Yea from what i have read i understand that modifications can be done but they still have to be checked over by a specialist to make sure it complys with the states laws on modifying!!

Thanks for your help & info its much appreciated, top man!

Take it with you, they are worth a fortune in aus esp perth. I have been out there a couple of times last year. The respect the cossie's get out there is massive.

A guy called John Cornnel i was speaking to when my saph was for sale thats all he does is import cossie's and parts out to aus. From what i can tell its paintwork that costs the money out there, but your okay on that front.

And by the way i love your saph, almost made me put mine back on the road and copy yours.

I dont think it matters in perth bud, mine was as modified as yours just never looked as good lol. The only reason he never sent mine over there was because the paintwork was not great. I believe you have to own out there for at least 6 months before it can be sold on. I know the 3 cars he took over there last time were very modified.

Good luck with it though bud you will love it over there. It was weird being over there just before xmas and seeing all the decorations up and it was still 28 degrees.
