the gsxr feels very small to be honest I had an old gsxr600 once that felt massive lol and to be honest the gsxr is much easier to ride but dose feel light on the front! But its very very fast! And and a mate of mine had an r6 there good bikes too

Thats more of a reason to go for one of the older ones, im 6ft 2 and 100kg and i think the newer R6, gsxr,cbr600 are all alot narrower/smaller in design compared to the older models.. Im not intrested in just power so decide on a 2005 gsxr600 or a 04-06 R6.

You're totally clutching at straws. I had a 2000 750 and before buying my zx10 I tested a new 10 plate 750 L0. Yes it's a LOT narrower but MILES more comfy!
Have you got a license yet? If so test ride. If not stop speculating

I'd say the other way round.
I don't think it'll be that high unless it's modded more than exhaust? Nearer 150 at a total guess. I'll google it
Eh?

Sitting on them is not like riding them. Trust me. You'll be surprised how little you actually use bike mirrors. It's v hard to adjust them while having a sit on rather than riding. Sometimes I pull my elbow in to have a look in the mirror. It's alien to you as you haven't tried it. I set my left mirror to see while tucked in and my right for behind while sitting "normal"
Please dont assume bike position on dimension. IMO the gixxer should be comfiest.
Now go sit your test!

Iv done my test
Il go test a gixxer out, looking at a few on wednesday so should have a rough idea.
Would you say testing one on a test drive isnt sufficent enough as for how comfy it will be on a longer ride? Iv only been riding 2 months or so now so not all clued up as you mate

The R6 has generally been the last comfy of the 3 main 600's over the years. Best 600 I owned was the kawasaki. They actually have a long useable 1st gear, always found the r6 horrid round town.
The bigger bikes (as Lamchop hints at) I find far easier to ride. I feel much more at home on the litre bikes than the 600's they are far easier to pootle around on and ofcoarse they go like stink.
I love the old R1's, had a couple many years ago.

Bikes are very hard to beat in straight line. early r1 is 148bhp at engine. i recon gixer is about 170bhp but tad less torque. my zx10r is 172 @ engine but its modded so prob about 180. In a straight line my bike aint far off the speed of a superstock bmw with 200 bhp. i was hitting 180mph down snetterton straight. trim
