Default Used the sunny weather to clean the bus

Had the old girl in the bodyshop for a nip and tuck last week and used the opportunity today to give it a damn good clean and get rid of the paintshop smell.

This is why she went in.

Crack in the front bumper and the black strip clips are broken.

Rusted front arch, was hoping it could be saved, but was not to be.

Rear bumper and wing where I caught it on a driveway fencepost

The obligatory rusty keyhole and rear end

And here she is today after the work has been done locally by a local chap called Peter recommended by J&S in Stockton. Big thanks to JSL Vehicle Repairs in Middlesbrough for letting Peter use their workshop.

Rear end tidied up, much happier with it now. A few people have mentioned no boot lock makes it hard to get into the boot if the mechanism fails, but I felt it worth the risk when I discovered I could make the key do a 360 in the lock itself

New genuine front wing fitted (supplied by Cotswold BMW, big up to Kev who sent me the 3rd one he received as he wasn't happy with the quality with the first two. You sir, I owe a beer ).

New bumper strip supplied by Cooper BMW in Stockton, fitted today.

After 4 hours of cleaning, figured I'd earned a reward

Next doors dog then checked I hadn't missed anything !

All in all a good days work and I'm much happier with it.

Next to do is to replace the bonnet badge as its peeling and get the plastic insert for the passenger front foglight as its missing. A trip to Exhaust-a-Fix in Darlington is on the cards to replace the tailpipe with a stainless twin setup, just for neatness

Cheers all

Matt
