Mate, that XR2 turbo was mine, you buy it off Jim?

The colour was not meant to come out like that - had that car while i was at college then uni - good fun car that took tons of abuse and was totally reliable and economical when driven nicely

RIP

yer i did see you thread yrs ago on xr2.com.
i hated the colour but had never owned an xr2 turbo so brought it for that factor.
ran fine on idle whn i got it but dropped down on boost, turned out to be 1 seriously worn cam lobe. fitted a new cam & jesus this thing was rapid!!!! it would spin the 13's up in the wet in 5th! ran about 18-20psi

i sold it 2 a mate who killed it & chirs from sheffiled brought it used it abused it & broke it

yer i think i prob had the most fun in that car outa all of em tbh

years ago i had about 4/5 cars on the go at once & never kept a car more then a few weeks!! lol
had plenty of fun over the years & have now ended up with a bog std series 1 rs turbo that im goin to use as my daily when home.

i love the looks on peoples faces when they see the old fords as not many get used everyday nowadays & people dont realise how quick they still are compare to some of the modern stuff.

the longest ive kept a car is just over a year & that was the white saff & in that time i musta only done 2000 miles if that, deadly in the wet & cost a fortune to fun so opted for a poofty front wheel drive that i can let the mrs use aswell.

my ultimate car is a series 1 rs turbo 4wd i think so who knows whats on the cards next...........
