I learnt and own pioneer cdj1000 decks but love playing on vinyl. I wouldn't like to play that touch screen thing, wouldn't feel right imo

Proper skills

Most of the vinyl in that is house music/baleric/ all sorts of other things he knows where they all are as well the sad git....

Mate of mine used to play the brunel rooms in swindon and at one point he was 6 deck mixing with sl1210's, old school/jungle days... I have another mate who is a hip hop dj for the last 25 years that has been to the dj world championships a few times...the bloke is just insane, usually uses no headphones and randomly uses his shoe to do some scratching... first time he did that down the pub i fell about pissing myself laughing..

Crappy vid of him on facebook!

Don't mind at all mate, hope you like it! Let us know what you think when you've heard it thru.

First heard that track way back in Feb time when Lee Foss played it at FACE in brum - tune of the summer for me, Clive Henry dropped it in DC10 when he was B2B with Dyed Soundorom and the place exploded!!

I've only been playing for a year but do love it, I wanna get some 1210's and traktor next but they're pretty expensive and I'm saving to buy a place.

I've been mixing for 15 years now, predominatly drum & bass and old school hardcore.
Currently using 1210's and Traktor, got Pioneer CDJ's but prefer using vinyl, although the features on the CDJ's are amazing!!

Ive got a set of nimarkTT520 direct drives and a gemini mixer which i have had for years. I dont really go on them that much now.I love the old skool vinyl its cool.

The first vid is.It just goes to show who far DJing technology has come on.

Ive always wanted to know. What is the old skool machine called that does what he does in the last 10secs of the vid where he is turning that circle round to make the noise. Most DJs ive seen have used them.

That multi touch Traktor set up is the nuts!

Witnessed a full demo of it in Barcelona last year at Sonar, well impressive!

Time is rapidly running out for vinyl in my opinion, not many years left for it now!

Rubbish! the rise of the bedroom digitaal dj is seeing the popularity of vinyl soar due to the skill needed to use it properly - if you're into dj'ing you'll know how many tunes are released on vinyl and how much earlier compared to those done digitally................

Care to enlighten me then? How many tunes are released purely on vinyl in comparison to other digital forms of media? How many are released massively before digital forms?

Personally im a fan of vinyl, but with the progression in technology I honestly cant see vinyl being used in any sort of professional level in 5 years time if that!

Quick boing back to the top! Played an hour's warm up set at a night my mate promotes last week, if anyone's staying in tonight might like a listen - it's deep house and needs some bass to be appreciated really

Only thing i can mix is a milkshake

Some of you got a hell of a lot of vinyl though, must be able to make some proper killer tracks from them..

Always wanted to rip some Hip-hop lyrics onto d'n'b tracks myself..but its SO confusing lol....

@Glenn it sure is you can differ the real DJ's by giving them 2 vinyl records (no BPM counters Sync buttons ect ect)
