In the RS200 world its a kit car as it doesn't run the correct engine
Nice car though and must of been built on a mega budget as those parts do not come cheaply.
Seriously though its a shame it has a YB if it its a genuine chassis, expect Steveboyslim to be along shortly lol

All the bd engines were used at the time so all that remained were yb engines , hence !

Very cool, still think with all that effort a BD could of been sourced, I suspect it came down more to cost than availability as although they are rare as hens teeth they have come up for sale, I even know someone who purchased one last year but you could have a mental spec YB for the cost of a BDT that requires a full rebuild !
I'm sure Steve will be interested in the car and maybe this is proof that his might get done too if this chap has took 20 years !

I can understand why people are like that, with all the crap that kicked off over a particular chassis its probably best some people keep things to themselves.

nice car. prefer the original style bodywork though.
Theres at least one kit out there with the chassis design copied direct from an original so i imagine in a few years, it could be hard to prove authenticity on anything without original paperwork especially as many have been oddly/late registered so V5 isnt that reliable and theres plenty of chassis numbers that could be used too.

ford built 200(?) in the factory and then sold them in kit form for rallying, rallycross etc, some ended up on the road, these cars where not numbered. due to the cost many of these ran yb engines.

Without John wheeler and Tony Southgate, there would have been no Sierra cosworth, RS200, Escort Cosworth.
I saw the car at Spooners about six years ago.
It was tested earlier this year, lower transfeer box ratio was supplied and fitted.
John saw the fitment of a YB as the natural progression from a BDT combined with the alterations in the bodywork.
There was even talk or making a convertable RS200.

When did you last see a genuine rs200 with a yb in it ?
Turns out it is the real deal, just a bit odd IMO with the wrong engine and that is why I said that ! There are lots of good looking reps about.
Compare it to this :
I very much doubt you will find a rep with a bdt in it
