My new Escort Cosworth and Evo 6 :-)
Pics below, waffle at the top!
Pics of my current silver one, and old Black 260
As some of you may remember I had a 6 month stint owning a couple of Evo 8s, after stripping and breaking my old Saph Cossie and selling my M3 and ZX6-R. I sold one of the Evos back at Christmas 09. It was the Black Evo 8 260 that sported fluorescent Yellow wheels when it went out on track and 19” BBS CH wheels on the road. I miss that car a lot at it was faultless in my ownership and apart from fuel and servicing it cost me nothing to own.
My brother's Evo ^^
Over the last year I’ve been looking after my brother’s Red Evo 8 MR FQ340, so my garages have always had a few nice cars around. My own Evo has spent a lot of time getting used hard on road and track, and spending similar time in the garage getting serviced, fixed and maintained, so I thought it was time I bought another car to use instead of borrowing my brother’s Evo whenever mine was off the road – something I’m sure he’ll be glad about as his car is a nice example with low mileage.
So… I’ve bought myself a 1993 Big Turbo Escort Cosworth. Pics and spec below:

Sorting the boost leaks ^^
I’ve bought this car to scratch an itch really – it came up at a sensible price and I’ve always liked it. It came from a friend in the Devon RSOC, and I used to park at show stands near to it and admire it from a distance. Now I finally get to own it! It’s drives like my old Saph Cossie, but lacks the power (I had 470 bhp and a straight cut box in the old Saph) but it looks so much better. My old car was all about the go, and deffo no show. This one drives great, and gets so many looks. I’ve already had people taking pics of it, and talking to me about it in petrol stations etc. It’s a real credit to it’s previous owner. I plan to keep it looking like this, and just make the odd minor improvement as needed. I have my 590 bhp Evo for the track and fast road, so the Escort will make a nice road car and summer show car.
Power is a bit of an unknown at the mo – it’s not been set up properly yet. A couple of days after I bought it I ran it at the MLR Veysport RR Day, and it made 300 bhp but was running lean and making only 20 psi (instead of the 28 it should). I’ve since had it home for some TLC under the bonnet fixing a few boost leaks and sorting out a couple of minor electrical gremlins. It’s now got the 28 psi it should have had, makes it a lot earlier in the RPM range than it did at the rollers. It’s transformed it, and I’d guess at 370 -380 bhp at the mo. The T34.63 turbo will go to 400 bhp at most really, which is plenty for the stock box, diffs and clutch. I don’t want to be spending another £3k on a straight cut box, even though I loved the sound it used to make!
So I’d like to say a big thanks to Ryan (aka Beetle3501) for some of the pics of the car and of course George (aka C6SSYBOY) for the great car and smooth hassle free sale.
Oh, I also may have gotten a little carried away and bought an Evo 6 as well! It’s been an expensive few weeks, but I was after a 6 for while and this one came up at a great price at the same time as the Cossie and while I should have been sensible I thought sod it! Another top owner that I bought it from as well which just made it all the more easy to buy.
I have huge plans for the 6, but I’ll reveal those in a new post one day in the future – for now it sits in the garage under cover, next to the Cossie and my Silver Evo 8. Every time I go to drag one out I have a huge grin on my face, and that to me is what it’s all about.
I’m sure there’s some people that will wonder, or ask so I’ll cover this now. I’m a truck driver. No I don’t sell drugs, nor rob banks. I work hard and long hours. I do a fair bit of overtime and I’ve just been promoted so I’m now Transport Manager / CPC Holder at the firm I work for. I’m no millionaire but I am comfortable and proud to have got where I am now by working hard rather than getting in debt and then pleading poverty.
Hope you like the pics!

Lol, cheers Dan, you been to WSM recently? Been there the last couple of weekends in the Escos and the place is dead now
The 6 plans are top secret Tim, but all will be revealed soon, like when I can afford the plans!
You have something more expensive and more valuable than me though to drain your funds - they're called kids! I'm envious of that, and the 205 is no ordinary slow coach is it
Cheers Jay, I don't do continental work, so it's not johnny foreigner I'm moving around Honest guv!
I know one of them thinks that, always get the twitchy curtains from their house when mates come round!
A good motto to follow
Thank you everyone ^^^
They went a couple days after I bought the car, you want them for yours?
Work hard, spend no money on anything else other than cars, and you're in! 1 is plenty, I just got carried away!
They're top secret (in part as even I'm not 100% sure )
Thanks Si
Just don't leave it too long fella, it's ace being able to enjoy it. Extreme example, but my parent's are financially comfortable now, but they're in their 70s and I wish they had that when they were younger to really enjoy it.

Nice one mate.It might be just me but i think the escos looks stunning compared to the evo6. Youe evo 8 is stunning i love the look of these cars.
Did many people stop you in your evo and talk to you about that?
How long will you keep the escos for then?
