My RS History
Heres some pics of my RS history. Not the biggest list but all cars have been very nice ones
First RS was a 89 White series 2. Got used daily for work etc and I loved every minute of driving it. This was my only daily RS all others have been weekend cars.
Then I bought what back then was my dream car from being young, an Escort Cosworth.
I sold that to get married etc, but soon got the bug back and bought one of the mintest Series ones around with 41k and 2 owners. Didnt realise what I actually had back then and sold it for what was good money at the time - Worth at least double now
Sadly those are my only pics of it. I sold it due to no garage as I was refurbing a house. Once that was done and I had a garage again I bought my next RS, A lovely Series 2 gain only this time in Red.
After enjoying that for a little while and doing some engine bay work I got the cossie bug again and bought a nice aubergine 28k miles one, lovely car but small turbo.
After owning that a few months I accepted the fact that a garage ornament just wasnt viable really and sold it and didnt have another RS for a few years. I then fancied getting a mk3 escort of some sort to restore. Xr3/3i, rs1600i or s1 as I love Mk3 escorts - very nostalgic. I ended up with a black Rs1600i and restored it over 2 years to this condition
Did a show season with it and really enjoyed it. I was contacted after by someone looking for the right RS1600i to buy so at the right price agreed to sell it to him. At the time the car was in winter storage and I had aquired another RS1600i off my mate that he was breaking, another resto! But I restored this to a decent standard, not concours.
At the time I had this car I was getting a cossie bug again but this time a Saff. I had not owned one and they were supposed to be good cars so bought one. White, low miles, immaculate leather etc.
Wasn't for me, didn't gell with it and knew I would be buying another Mk3 within no time lol. I was then wanting a non injection XR3 as I love them but finding one was a no go then this Caspian Blue RS1600i came up for sale and I kinda knew the car. So opted for that. As soon as I got it home last december I pulled the engine out and restored the engine bay to OE spec. Replaced the interior with a better one including dash and genrally just made it better, and that is now my current car for this season and Im hoping its a keeper as it is a lovely but quite useable RS
Hope some of you like what I have owned, and what I own now. CheeRS for looking

Well it depends how you look at it mate. They WERE great cars in their day. I absolutely love the look, the shape, the lines etc. XR3's, XR3i's, RS1600i, Rs turbos - All lovely cars imo. Im not going to sit here and say theyre great cars now, they dont drive that nice and aren't too quick unless you got a turbo, but the looks and the nostaligia are what does it - like people with Mk1 and 2 escorts - They cant convince me they own them because of the way they drive LOL

Yeah i agree, i have always had twincam sierra's cause they do drive nice i have cossie saph now and that drives horrible compared to the others but it defo puts a bigger smile on my face.
I have had a few mk4 escort's and i did enjoy driving them especially the cabriolet.
