cool pics, i do like the vdub scene... but i dont get this whole "stretched" tyres look?? one word comes to mind.... Gash!!!

 

how do you drive 90% of them cars?

The whole low and wide wheels look can look cool but most of them have taken it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to far and it just looks wank and makes the car undrivable so whats the point?

 

Most of those cars are on Air Ride guys...can adjust the suspension to go up and down

 

As usual with Dubs some really really cool ones that look the bollocks and some that I don't understand. That brown Jetta is unbelievable might as well turn it into a hovercraft!

There are three nice cars there; the MK2 GTi in near standard form, the MK2 Rallye, and the MK1 GTI.

I think it's safe to say the rest all look toss. The usual silly tyres, silly suspension, VAG nonsense.

the vag 'scene' just seems to be undriveably low, stretched tyres, and wheels off other cars that don't look right...

 

Guys, the low stances are achieved with hydro and air ride...they can raise the cars up as they wish and drive over even the biggest speed bumps lol

 

Came up behind this golf last night, was bumping down the road like crazy!

 

Or Ł160 fk plastic coilovers which last a few months lol

My version of if it aint rubbin it aint dubbin for Ł300 lol

Some fantastic standard of preperation on the cars, but I hate all the "make it so low its totally fucking shite to drive and doesnt handle at all" ruining of cars just to fit in with a scene.

The VW scene is by far the biggest bunch of fashion victims in the car world and its a real shame as some of the cars they are starting with are genuinely good cars before they totally fuck up the suspension dynamics of them.

 

Still handle like fucking shite.

Shame cause a lot of those cars would make great track cars if they werent so "scene"

Ive removed the coilovers on mine & fitted 125/15/19 tyres to my 8" rims.
I feel so cool now mind you the car looks shite & the arches have munched the tyres. All worth it to be in the 'scene'.

I really like most of the cars here but as above, the attention to detail really is second to none, but as above, most are ruined by stupid wheels/tyres!

 

Proper eye candy there, I love the VW scene, Just never got involved as i think id get bored just 'cleaning and styling' all the time lol

Not all of them are you'll find. Infact, not one person I know who has a stupidly low vag is on air or hydro, all on coilies.

 

Its all horses for courses...I have a low vehicle on air ride...but it isnt built to go fast...just like most of the cars above...most will have relatively stock, low power engines...their thing is to go low and slow...

The Ford scene is the opposite, most dont worry about what the vehicle looks like, as long as its fast...Again, I have a Focus RS which I want to handle like its on rails rather than look good (although I like it clean!)...

The Jap scene is inbetween...they go fast and can look good to!

I appreciate ALL car scenes, whether they are built to be loud, low, fast, slow, etc etc...we all build our cars for a purpose...and as long as they fit that purpose...its all good! It just so happens the VAG scene is about low, stance, poke, stretch etc etc...the Ford scene is about FAST FAST FAST....the Jap scene is a mix...

Personally I like to go to ALL types of car shows...but I get bored quickest at the VAG ones lol!

 

yea and on a bora/mk4 golf you have to get rid of arb unless you fit r32 one if you go lower than 40-60mm, then they handle even worse pmsl

Of course! those vids there ae the reason i have always been in the ford scene and never strayed! The Ford scene is all about motorsport (which i love) but the euro scene is about static/slow looks and clean lines.

I mean static wise, you go to a ford show and its thousands of the same ford, in a choice of normally 4 colours, with a choice of 4 different motorsport wheels. But yes i know which scene id rather be in, fast and retro for me all the way

 

Yep totally agree about the motorsport side of things! Like I said, the shows I get bored in quickest are the VAG ones...static shows dont do much for me...give me a track based show any time!
