Porkie, to note the m6 being toasted 2 people in it quite a bit more weight BUT a proper everyday car the M5 even more so, 200,000 miles engines i'd think, plus to add note the 430 had an initial leap but as speed picked up the gap was closing.
Both great engines yes but the bmw v10 engine won the awards mate...this is not my cocks bigger mate, if i ditched the merc and the bm i could have a 430 but ferrari to me ='s far too high risk motoring from reliability/servicing and jealous idiots!
..oh and V10 is a proper iconic engine.

Phil, can you not just get over the fact that this thread isnt about your M5 and let Lee enjoy his car without constantly having to try and big your own up non stop, if Porkie wanted an M5, he would just buy a few of them instead of the F430, but he doesnt, and the reason he doesnt is that he actually likes to drive his cars, not just look at the spec sheet.
Nearly all ferraris look crap on paper, but many of them drive nicely, given that you were forever banging on about your snotty old 348 I am amazed you cant see the appeal in something like an F430.
Its just a complete package of a car, its got stunning looks (imho), its got a fantastic engine, they handle fantastically im sure, the brakes are superb, its just a wonderfully put together package based around the fact that people just want a car that is a joy to drive, no one who owns one gives a flying fuck if its a practical everyday car or not as they all just buy some old M5 like yours as well or whatever if they care about such things.
The whole point of the car is that it isnt compromised by needing to be a daily driver as well, and thats why its so much better to drive no doubt than any car that is, even a very good compromise like your M5 is.
Now please just stop dragging the thread off topic mate and let Porkie give us all a review of this car, loads of us would like to hear his opinion as he is in a very privileged position of having driven and owned so many cool cars that hearing his feedback after owning and no doubt driving genuinely hard in it is something that would interest a lot of us.
I certainly care more about what Lee thinks of driving it than I do some wally like clarkson as I know that Lee enjoys the same things about cars that I do, so I know if he likes driving it that I would too.

cant see it placed anywhere on any list that matters though TBH, like Ward's for example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward%27s_10_Best_Engines
The older V8 M5 lump is on there though (rightly so IMHO!)

Chip...i was merely commenting on porkie getting arsey over the 430 comment someone else to which i replied to which he found the need to put a you tube vid up of a 430 toasting an m6.....i retailiated with the reason the v10 engine is better than the 430 engine, so please shut the fuck up and mind your own buisness...me and porkie are just going tit for tat, i assume porkie can see that.

Really? Based on that?
Wow, you really are a sad cunt if you think that just from me wanting to hear Lee's opinion becuase I know it will closely mirror my own as we enjoy driving the same sort of cars in the same sort of way.
It does amaze me that on this website you cant show anybody the slightest bit of respect without all the sad cunts like yourself instantly branding it arse licking, when very clearly to anyone with a brain its no such thing.

In the cars you mention there though, we both like driving his 996, we both like driving his westy cosworth, we both like driving a decent sierra, and im sure if he has a go of it he will find my nova a laugh too.
Last time we were at a trackday together we had great fun chasing each other around in a pair of clios, we just generally like the same sort of cars despite having a big difference in our annual incomes, I really cant imagine how you would find that so hard to understand TBH.

Anyway, as this thread is now totally trashed, (my efforts to try and drag it back on topic appear to have become a bandwagon to drag it off topic instead so ive essentially made things worse not better by daring to post saying I would like to hear Lee's opinion, which is of course a crime on PF where no one is allowed to respect anyone else ) hopefully Lee will start a new one giving us a review of the F430 at some point though.

Not banter police at all mate, would just prefer to read about F430's than M5's in this post about F430's thats all, if I want to read about your M5 there are already lots of threads I can do so in without this needing to be one too.

No Phil, on this thread the first comment from either of you comparing the M5 to the F430 was you not Lee:
Porkie hadnt even mentioned M5s at that point.
The only mention of them was by someone totally different saying there was a better chase video that featured one.
So I think you must have misread it or something.

Chip, you are sooooooooooo annoying! Stop ruining the thread with endless drivel in your quest to bait Phil. Lee is more that capable enough of pissing on Phils fire in a more humerous and less annoying way than you!

yes chip look at what i said the TRUTH with a couple of apt smilies which you love to bang on about...of course i said this after i took porkies reply re the m5 chase as bait You see chip see all corners not just the ones you brown nose, OR stay out of conversations that dont include YOU, that would be best.
