2 different Specs on those vids

640bhp + 100 shot on a GT35.- 2004

690BHP + 150 shot on a GT40- 2005

The most we ever ran was 690bhp +200 'push'. -2006 which is the 186mph aborted run video.

I'm not really into top speed but i would imagine if I was then i'd want to be the one driving, as it would be my, 'dream, money, car'.

I would love to hold the record but at 64 im just not capable. Im about 4 mph or so slower than anything Mark can do. You probably have no idea how scary it is braking hard from 200+ mph with a car park full of cars looming up . The car has a lot more Power now so I may have a bash at beating the current record & hold it for a few minutes, but a Pro driver will be doing any further runs as even Mark has called it a day.
You say I dont drive my car but 4 of the Top 12 speeds ever achieved in a RS Cosworth were driven by me & im proud of that .

Sorry it wasn't meant as a dig i know you drive too (quite obviously you have certain things against you that a younger driver doesn't), just if it were me i'd be quite annoyed that my car, my money, my dream was given by me to someone else to enjoy.
Your right i have no idea what hard breaking from 200mph is like and to be honest i don't really wanna find out, done it from 150 (i misjudged something ) also had a previous car's engine cut out at 100mph+ they weren't pleasant.

No track stuff its not designed for that, its for the road only & a few punts down a runway.

 

No offence taken, I once got within .5mph of the record when it stood at 201.8 but maybe thats as close as i will ever get only time will tell.

 

Just a thought...

Don't people your age normally have nice weekends away in caravans...?
Isn't there a top speed record for towing a caravan...?
