Performance Ford Trackday @ Brands
Good day out, weather held off and track dried off by the afternoon so plenty of fun was had by all. Couple of offs, some not so serious but one guy rolled it at Paddock Hill Bend in the gravel. Don't know if he's ok or not to be honest as it happened right at the end of the day so the day was ended when it happened.
My Fiesta performed so well, I'm really impressed. The Brembos and the Ferodos performed all day, no fade, the tyres gave in before the brakes showed any sign of losing effectiveness. Just lacked power down the straights because around the twistier sections I was keeping up easily with the high powered cars.
Looking forwards to more tracktime next year now.

They were awesome mate, really made my day...
Yeah that's right. You need to do quite alot Brackets to mount them, drill out the standard hub bolt size, space out the discs, space out the calipers, FRS brake lines, grind away some of the caliper, some of the bracket etc...worth every bit of effort though.
Still annoyed at the marshalls for not letting me use my camera to film, even though you had exactly the same camera. Oh well.
He almost managed yeah. Was just too slippy though. It looked like he just clipped the kerb coming out of the corner, and at that point in the day they were still very slippy. He is ok though, and it's all cosmetic as he drove home after.

Like it, was hoping I would pop up at somepoint! I notice you are clipping the kerbs alot, I presume that was later in the day after it dried up? As I clipped on of the kerbs early on and it put me all out of shape where it was still very slippery.

hi Ian, glad you liked the vids, my cars spec is roughly as follows:
Garrett GT35 turbo with external wastegate, stainless manifold off reyland escos, big port head, bd16 inlet, bd14 exh, low compression, long studded, knife edge crank, swedish style plenum, 4x 660cc siemens injectors, eec lV throttle body, L8 ecu with pectel board, aeromotive fuel system.
think thats most of the main bits, unfortunately it wasn't able to be mapped the day before due to the tuners computer packing up so it's still running on the base map. ended just putting the det cans on it, turning the boost upto 2 bar, made sure it weren't detonating and left it like that.
it's only my 2nd trackday in it though so still lots of room for improvement, hoping a propper mapping session will cure the lag otherwise i may down size the turbo, as i was having to get down into 2nd gear for the tight corners otherwise i was just bogging down in 3rd.
yours was going really well.. i couldn't keep up! what spec/power is yours?
