Something A Bit Different, EK4 civic
thought i'd stick some pics up of my mates civic, its something a little bit different, was never a lover of jap cars at all but this is a very well put together motor with nice individual touches.
ginge might like this as he commented on one in his jap thread
its a rebuilt B18 bottom end, B16 head, EK9 cams and double valve springs, lightened flywheel, exedy clutch, DC2 teggy LSD box, daiyama coilies, 282 front brakes, strut brace, c brace, ek9 steering wheel, rare blue DC5 recaros, spoon n1 exhaust, sumo filter, apexi ECU and some other bits and bobs i cant remember
pics...
car is now on the Rota GT3's with the blue lip, last pic is a bit old.
comments and feedback on something a bit different for passionford welcome

havent had a proper play yet mate, i think it would be about level peggings, had a really good play with a WRX scooby on the M58, think he was more than suprised.
the EP3 run a K20 though, much more torquey than the B18's and obviously a bit more development gone into them, there 200 ponies out of the tin. we will see

standard the ek4's have different cams, pistons, no lsd gearbox and a few other changes, can't remember them all as i'm not a massive jap fan.
EK4's also have a different spoiler and side skirts to my mates, it has ek9 headlights in you might be thinking of the facelift model with the different front end.
was out having a play in it tonight, takes so much abuse constant abuse and dosent miss a beat!!
think me and him built a decent motor.

Ek refers to the shape. EE is 88 - 90, EG is 90 - 95 (ish) and EK is 95 - 99 ish
The number refers to the engine that it came with standard.
EK4 - 1.5 LSi vtec Eco model pish
EK5 - 1.6 Esi Vtec middle of the range number
EK6 - 1.6 VTi Uk decent model
EK9 - 1.6 Type R Jap model
I've never seen an EK7, or 8 but they may be jap spec models

VTEC has been set to come in at 3.5k as wayne at chipwizards said this would make it more driveable, so the vtec crossover isnt as apparent like on tegs etc...
but it comes on cam fooking lovely at 6.5k
