Thats gutting it looks spot on in the 4pm pics and the rebuild thread was excellent-I've been following it since before you bought the bloody thing

Heres the resto thread for any of you that didnt see it.
https://passionford.com/forum/restor...storation.html
This was the cars first run after the restoration, just to make sure everything was working fine before the MOT next week and the insurance policy i was taking out mext week to get the car to the station
Its happened 20 feet from my drive. didnt hit nothing, the damage to the bonnet, well initially was the explosion then the fireman crowbaring the bonnet to get at the fire.
What basically happened as far as i can work out id the metering unit was sticking open and flooded the enginge to the point where i think it may have passed the bores in to the block as well.
The battery was getting low so I bumped it to get it to fire up
then basically when it did fire up about 5-10liters of flamin petrol erupted into the engine bay and BBQ rsi it was
It does look bad and well it is bad, a lot of hard work and more importantly rare/obsoulite parts are now melted to nothing.
The shell is ok apart from the off side wing which took the other end of the force from the scaffold pole/crowbar.
Sadly the interior is dead apart from a smelly rear bench.
Dont know what im gna do, the engine i think is ok, will whip it out and take it apart and have a look.
But basically all that survives it the suspension and shell.
Dont know what im gna do yet, maybe it will polish out

i will donate some t-cut to the rebuild fund.
Seriously i think rebuild it.
buy a cheap shitty xr3i for most of the bits you need.
you had a spare front seat,
so you need a dash , 1 front seat and door cards for the interior
