heres my one, will get some better pics taken after i cleaned it later
tbh this forum is very much turbo and big power stuff only, with the exception of the retro's and the rs1600i, anything new if it hasnt got a turbo then noone cares, shame really

For the record - I like the RS2K's - some nice examples in this thread
But then I love my Scorpio Cosworth, so I clearly have no taste and you should ignore what I say!

thats a good point, the 2k you get power steering, proper abs, and still keep comfy recaros, i have to admit the one i had years ago was shite, slow and just nasty but that had a hard life before i got it, but my latest one i love, so smooth and comfortable yet still loves the b roads, grab em by the scruff of the neck and use em and they deliver a huge smile on ure face
cars from differend eras, not directly comparable.

escort cosworth is better than a model t in every concievable way, not comparable as the escort would never have happened were it not for the model t. i think cars can only be compared with a similar car of the same era ie: escort rs turbo vs pug 205 gti. focus st mk2 vs megane r26.
what im saying is that newer cars are usually better as a result of what was learned from what went before.

loved driving mine and always will remember it fondly.totally underrated motors and always had the ability to shock a few people who assumed there had no go in them cos they didnt have a smokey cvh and a blower.
would have one again in a heart beat

iirc the i4 rs2k lump i based on the sierra i4 dohc engine, was a heavy engine but delivered the goods well, is a very revvy engine, uses a cam chain rather than belt, there isnt much in common with the zetec it run along side though, just that there both twin cams

I think they are cool cars. They aren't going to have the power potential of a Cosworth but for a good reliable car with good handling and the potential for handling and braking upgrades, i can't see whats not to like.
Plus you can make them a 2.3 can't you which would make it a bit tourqier.

No hate here, think they are smashing cars. Love how ford used an out of range engine and developed it further.
Like the 4x4 but this is just cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsdCAygMnNc

I wouldnt have thought it would mate tbh but maybe wrong and you could shoe it in some how lol But the MTX75 and IB5 seem to me a totaly differant box.
I know a lad selling an I4 block built by Stu @ MSD for 500 BHP, project was haulted and block is for sale un used.

Lad I sold it to was doing over 60 mph down a lane on the IOW and something ran out on him, he tried to avoid it lol
60mph 6 flips end to end 6 weeks after he purchased it, most people blame the 666 plates, I blame the driver

i'd love to build up a mental mk5 4x4 turbo rs2k but good ones are hard to find and with the prices people are pulling out of the air for most cars at the moment a good one will be about 1500 over priced in my eyes,
didnt the msd boys have a grey rs2k turbo years ago?
