Testing the future
This thread was started to allow the suprisingly large number of Digital SLR camera people on pf to share their photo's with each other, to give other people ideas aswell as receive constructive criticism/praise to help them improve their skills/confidence to try new things.
The idea was originally put forward by tonyk in a general discussion thread but i couldnt wait until he started his own so here goes...
Feel free to post your DSLR photo's of any theme/topic

I'm going to a club meet this evening as I want to improve and think that peer criticism and advice is the best way - along with practice, practice and more practice.
BTW, why don't we do this as a Flickr group, as most people seem to be on there already?
I tend to put a few on Flickr that I consider my best, and post more generally to Facebook.

I tried to photograph from each spot with lower shutter speeds than the above, but every time I tried the picture was a blurry mess: more panning practise required!
Been looking back a bit further through this thread: some superb shots in here.

..BS Motorsport..
VERY good panning on the BMW, can see how far you had to track by the trails in the background and the car is more than acceptable in terms of sharpness, good show

I'm going to keep posting until the rest of you post some pictures!
Couple from the Le Mans 24 Hour...
...and a couple from the Goodwood FoS Rally Stage!

I think its amazing how good a still from a video camera can look now. Just a few years ago, stills from digital video looked horrible!
Really like that the Robin shot Brian, the bird stands out so well against the background.
I tried some two wheeled photography this month. First up the Superbikes at Brands Hatch...

...then the motocross at Canada Heights...

Was also playing with much lower shutter speeds at Canada Heights to emphasize speed.

Not sure if I like the effect though: think I prefer it when the whole subject is in focus.
