Its an awesome road but it was massivly busy even at 9am in the morning and Italians all drive like complete nutters! Deffo better going in late September like we did last year.

exposing for snow. cameras tend to suck at exposing for snow, they try to turn it into grey when its white. Easiest way is to dial in +0.3 to +0.7 exposure on the camera. Take a shot and look on the histogram to see that its got white snow where it should be i.e. white, not grey. For example, the 1st pan needed almost 2.00exp adding to bring the scene to what I would imagine it looked like to you? Its really hard working with snow. Youve done a great job this time keeping it in manual so theres no banding between frames which it had last time. Next trip Id recommend over exposing slightly to try bring the whites out. Hope thats helpful? My snow shots all looked grey until I read up on it and it makes a lot of sense. Still envious of these though Marco, not many people get to see the world like that

No wonder Thomas lost all that weight if he does everything that fast!!! The pan of your evo is pretty nice, blatantly not you taking the pic though with you been in the drivers seat 
I love Cadwell for track pics, whole course has so many different opportunities, love the subaru, nice bit of flame 
Im wanting to get over to wicksey's to get some nice images of the ecos, got a great idea in mind, if and when I get my arse into gear you'll have to come over.

that will be light coming in through the eye piece, when you got your camera it should have come with a little rubber cover that slides over the eye piece/viewfinder for when you do long exposures. Bit of black tape will do the job if you dont have one.
Nice scene by the way, Id take multiple exposures to capture it all (the bright lights are quite distracting so an exposure for them could then be blended over the top of the long exposure for the rest of the scene). Also try get horizon level in camera so you dont have to rotate it in post processing and lose some of the image.

Or its just a little dirt. Nothing wrong with it. In these modern days you use Photoshop to get rid of them
Here some pics of me. Remember they come from a EOS 5 wich is a 35mm cam and not a digi. Wich make the color on the pics just cool retro. This film was 2 years over date.

Well you do know that at F22 you really get a small hole for the light to pass....As at F6 you get more and more. So more light will be passing.
Remember the shots above are made with shutter times 30 sec ++. And a tripod. Wich you didnt use?

The light is leaking through the viewfinder around the mirror and onto the sensor not through the lens so stepping down the aperture will have no affect whatsoever. Adams was 25 seconds, my example was 15 seconds.

Right. Not going to start over again. Just saying get a higher F nr and you will be amazed. Only said it could be dirt. Had that once. Cleaned the lens with a proper material and away. So if you are right and this is light getting thru the VF you don't think its logical to get a higher F nr so you wont have al that light? This is just my experience in from the past 4/5 years of night shots.

Your not getting the point, your aperture ring is in your lens, this light is not coming through the lens, its leaking through the eye piece, unless your camera has an aperture ring on its viewfinder???!!! A higher F number would make it worse as your shutter time would be longer allowing the sensor to "see" more of this leaking light. Quick vid of this problem at its worse

Right. Don't know but in this vid i see nothing whats on the pic. So how come that i am taking pictures for the past 4/5 years that with high F nrs i never get any off this problems and at low i have? And i am not covering the VF. I am not even standing behind it. Its not the same thing as you have on your vid. Just try it.

in the vid your seeing worst case scenario. On night shots like the examples posted its night time so there is little light behind you anyway, normally street lights etc, these manifest as the coloured dots as shown. Why ask ade? I know what the problem is, I know the reason behind it and I know the solution. Your suggestion was dust which it CLEARLY is not. You seem to think that aperture would affect how much light leaks through a viewfinder (only the shutter duration would affect this)? Maybe you should talk to Ade? 
Alternatively have a look on every camera forum going to see more examples of the same.

Anyway never ever had this and i made a lot of night shots. Plus don't know on wich forum you are but never seen this problem on my forum And the pics above i all had streetlights or houses with lights behind me. So that why i thought it must be something else.

Your UV filter is the problem of the lens flare mate. Its only for dirt protection. As long as you don't shoot at the beach full in the wind in a sand storm you're ok
