My Series 1 RS Turbo Custom Restoration
Some of you may remember that about 2 years ago i bought a 1985 Series 1 RS Turbo Custom.
The car had a genuine 55k miles from New, with FFSH, All old MOTs, receipts from 1985-2006 and all paperwork etc.
Interior was mint, bosy was solid and i bought the car with the sole intention of cleaning it up, to use as a weekend / show car.
The car was Mint, it had just been sat in a garage for a couple of years, and was showing signs of grub, dust etc.....my "small" project went way too far though lol, and i ended up :-
Stripping the full underside and suspension out
Stripping all the engine and engine bay and rebuilding the engine and gearbox
Painting the engine bay and bodykit with genuine Diamond White
Replacing every single part on the underside and suspension for Brand New Genuine Items
Every nut and bolt and clip replaced for new with original or stainless
Powder coat wheels / New Tyres
Powdercoated everything underneath and painted underside, seam sealed etc
The list went on and on......in the end i went so far, painting the underneath etc, that i didnt have the heart to drive it on the road and sold it !!!! Gutted now !!!
Anyway i have recently been in discussion to buy another S1 Project, and a few forum members have asked me to post up pics of my old one i sold....so here goes......enjoy...
When first purchased it was good nick, but grubby..
Engine bay was stripped to the bare bones, and engine out..
Engine bay was cleaned out and ready for prime / paint
Underside and arches were completely stripped, rubbed down to sealer / metal ready for prime and paint, there was no rot, and only small areas of rubbable surface rust....came off with a flatwheel

Engine bay and front panel / slam panel was done to an exceptional standard by my mate who is a painter
Once that was finished, it was time to clean the loom.....replace all the tape with gen ford black stuff, and rerun the loom with new clips all round.
New master cylinder and reservoir etc were fitted...

Cheers for all the comments guys, its sunny sunday afternoons that i regret selling it.....
I had the amber indicators, they were given to the new owner.....who hasnt EVER got in touch with me since he had it collected on his behalf sadly.....
Apparently its not in storage with some other cars from his collection.

I remember you offering me TOP money for mine mate then having to buy this one as I refused!
Stunning car, only thing i'd do was put the Ambers back on the front...
Do another, to the same standard and keep it!

Trying to find another workable one for decent money is proving a nightmare
There was one on here that would have been a good project went for 2500.....and i missed it...
They are all either massively modified, stupidly high money for not standard cars, or sheds lol
