Funny, went to vieuw this car a couple of years ago.
The owner is a rather...strange...man! He's got a few more toys like the Zakspeed Capri kit of the group 5 racer and things like that.
the car is brutal and if you're into historic racecars cery cool but it's a dog vieuwed up close and really needs TLC to get it up to standard.
It's from Belgium, near the Ardennes.
Croix blanche used to built and maintain racecars for Ford, he also has the Ford motorsporttrucks hidden away and is rumoured to have sold a new RS200 a couple of years ago that was stashed in a barn

hello folks
things didnt go as planned unfortunately but theres a saying, good things take time
My main man in charge of the body of the car had a back problem resulting in an operation last december, and he is still recovering. Therefore there has been no updates....
When we (Gary from Retromotorsport and I) departed on this journey we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into really.... There was only ever 5 cars built, 3 to the spec of mine so restoring back to "original" was somehow troublesome as we had nothing to go by.
Long story short I had a visitor from New Zealand who owns car #2, who brought along a nice DVD from his resto that was exactly what we needed.
All cockups from past wanna be mechanics could be deleted and replaced by what was back then the right thing.
So far so good we thought..... I already had a nice SCS YB lined up to go in it when i decided it aint havin it.
So on i went on a search for a complete Zakspeed BDG which i did not find. What i did find though was a person who has a warehouse full of zakspeed parts, which combined make more than 1 engine Long story short he just built me a nice BDG to go in my mk1 rs1600 and now he is building me a Zakspeed BDT turbo for the gr5
Instead of going 280hp, lucas injection BDG we wanna go the turbo route - the spec that was used past the Gr5 days in UK rallycross.
Loud pops, bangs and 500+ hp.....
I located a brand new old stock 4 bolt mains BDT that now this gentleman is working on.
For the rear Tom @ Fostek worked his magic, he designed and built a 1off rear axle, consisting of an aluminum center with chrome moly tubes, a gripper diff and the centerlocks incorporated into the axle. a piece of art !!
While that was taking shape Gary, with the broken back, seems to come back to life - so 2013 surely is gonna see some of this car, even if it wont be 100% finished.
i will keep you updated.
and...... CF aint gonna feature it anymore, they decided it is taking too long and never contacted us again.... but then went on and published the replica from the german brothers claiming it is original. well, it is not. the bodykit is from SA and lacking several parts and the engine is from the US out of a formula car...... even the VIN they put in the car is someone elses....u'd think they'd do their homework but no

someone said pictures
the new BDT block, the mockup zakspeed BDT and the fostek axle
most of you will recognize this block to be rs1700T / RS200. u can tell if it was in a 17T, because
then the bellhousing didnt fit so a chunk of the block had to be cut away
thisone is unused, nikasil linered
