Yeah was a big pretty smash from monday, lorry and a 3 cars... didn't look like a fatal though thankfully, but we did have a 2 and half hour wait, wouldn't wanted to have been at the end of that que...

2 1/2 hour wait in that heat in a car stuff that you must have been cooking 
and like you said I wouldnt have liked to of been the people at the back of that queue

Do you want the real curved fisheye effect, or just mega wide?
Ultra wides zoom.... Sigma 10-20mm or Nikon 12-24mm are the best two I'd say. Or for a real fisheye effect the 10.5mm is the best choice
D80/D200 are 10MP, D2x - 12.4MP

Lots and lots of practice I suppose.
I'm still learning lots every day and I've been mucking around with cameras since I was about ten
