yeh they need to be though to get it to drift and slide about on every bend it is 4x4 remember, stian used to use falcans. plus cheap tyres tend to smoke like fuck!

My pet is Moonstone blue!
I remeber Stian used Bridgestone potensa S03's and Pirelli tyres with yellow logo on the side (rain tyres I think) not so cheap are they.?

i saw the silver escort and reyland escort on track at the same time. at one point the silver car was on a full blown 4wd slide with smoke flying and the reyland escort was just cornering normally right behind him being covered in smoke.
imo it is the driver and what he does with it is what makes a car a legend and the way both the blue and silver versions of the escort were driven on the limit and in such style will always do it for me.
ive talked to many people who have said that watching the blue escort being driven so well doing huge slides with the drivers 10 year old daughter in the passenger seat loving it was one of the best things they ever saw. def a legend
also witnessed the nascar engined m5 and all i can say is what a machine! it revs like a motorbike! almost bizarre coming from a 5 series bmw

The car shows upp now and then on Gatebil shows

when stian won the "breisladd" in 2004 he wore street legal 18inch slicks.
think it was because he didnt have time to change tyres between a race and the breisladd competition.
he celebrated by doing donuts that filled the whole cockpit with smoke, from the camera point of view you couldnt see out the window.
so 700hp is sufficient for 4x4 drifting even with slicks =)

A bit late to this thread but that fiesta stian built has a focus rs 5 cylinder engine right now and is used for hillclimb, the wrc escort is the same as it was, silver, 915hp etc, it is STREET LEGAL! the car is still in Norway.
