Project Refurb 72 KMW.
Not exactly a vehicle restoration, more of a property resto Thats taking or has been taking for ever
The front garden was done in the summer of 05'
The front garden has gone from Wildlife reserve.............
Green Oasis!!
Bloody hard graft but well worth it
Then it was the turn of the front door to be done....
Much better and less draughty
Then it was the turn of the bathroom, i deconstucted the bathroom ages and ages ago in amoment of 'I'm bored' lol
I had to move the extractor fan as it was above the sink and i wanted it above where you'd stand if you were stood in the shower. Once that was done i needed a false ceiling put in as downlighters were the way to go But having 1in of plasterboard ceiling and then 6in of concrete for the flat above, a false ceiling was the only route. Luckily i have a very good friend who knows plasterboard inside out....... Tony Turbo
You'll also notice my carefully drawn up plans drawn on the wall
Next thing in the bathroom was a new floor to support the extra weight of the black porcelain (sp) tiles that were going to be going down While i was there i temporarally fitted the new power shower in as well.....
We have a piss poor hot water supply in the flat due to the fact that the hot water tank is only 4ft off of the ground So in goes a pump (excuse the 'looks like a bodge' fitment - it aint trust me, it certainly does the job!)
With preperations going quite well and the new suite ordered and delivered it was time to get the bathroom tiled... The new bath had to be installed to allow the tiler to fit the tiles around it.
With that done, let the tiling begin!
How good does all that look
With all the tiling in and the bath sorted, it was time to start getting the rest of the suite in....

Quite a transformation i think:
Before:
After:
A HUGE thanks to Lennie who helped with the final install of the bath and cabinets, oh and doing the odd electrical wiring for me
But i'm going to blow my own trumpet and say that i'm well chuffed with myself and my abilities at d.i.y

Its the reflection from the mirror
But i have installed downlighters since, and the extractor fan is one of those downlighter/fan combos

sorry to be the one that criticises but imo that is propper diy at its best. if i was looking at the property to buy i would want money knocked off to put it back right. the tiling is terrible(99% of walls arent straight so always avoid the full tile starting on one and always looks better doing them central, plus tile spacers are cross shaped for a reason) and the shower pipe is bloody awful running out and along the wall. plus the shower screen is very dodgy as if it was to open outwards it would hit the vanity unit and possibly smash coursing a very seroius injury. not to keen where you have the shower head also, looks like the spray will go right out of the bath. also not to sure about the heated towel rail standing directly above the bath aswell.

if the joints do not fit "fill them in with grout and shit"
honestly people can devalue property by not doing the job properly. before any one says about money and budgets where property is concerned these days everything has to be perfect. all short cuts etc have a tendancy to come back and bite you in the ass. i was simply pointing out the hazards you have created and seen as though this is a public forum i was simply making you aware of them. like the shower screen with no movement either side before smashing into things and the shower head 'maybe' spraying water across the tiled floor making it very slippy.plus the really hot towel rail across the bath in easy reach of you in the bath or shower. the pipe running across the walls for the shower will create condensation and start dripping across the tiles and bath eventually turning things black.

Paul,
Looks good mate.
However, K55SY has said nothing wrong - I agree about the shower pipe - if you were tiling the wall, why not take the pipe inside the wall? Alternatively, you could have run a new tap setup, and run it straight up to a fixed shower head.
However, tiling isn't easy - I know cos we've just done the floor and bathroom of my brother's place, but you've certainly cleaned the place up a touch! Can't see the screen being an issue, as you'll never open it.
Love those floor tiles though! Want to do my bathroom in the same, as the just look so clean.
Best of luck with the rest of the transformation, and if there are cleavage shots on offer, even I'd make the journey to help!

The wall the actual shower unit is attached to is the seperating wall between us and next door, so i couldn't really start channeling out a fuck off channel for one pipe. So i decided to run it inside the boxed downpipe from the flat upstairs, simple but effective without all the pain i'd get from next door.
A new tap set-up would of looked piss poor with the new bath, plus having crap water pressure it would of been a crapola shower - so i put in the electric power shower.
The tiling was never done by me, it was done by a professional and as far as i'm concerned it looks brilliant.
The shower screen is never going to open, but then i knew that when i designed the bathroom, its a postage stamp sized bathroom FFS
If the people who are so easy to critasise my work knew the fucking pain in the arse everything has been, you'd know why i'm so pleased with it all............... So have one of these
