Only three pics of my car. If anyones interested I'll post some pics of the other cars.

Cheers for the positive comments.

I must strengthen the bonnet a bit. It only weighs about 2kg, its too thin and bends in the airflow.

I'll try to add some videos.

Hi

The rules for tyres are open, only the width of wheel has a limit depending on class.

My slicks are Avon 230/620 x 17 A11's. I think I need a softer compound.

Dunlop wets 235/610 x 17

I've seen some guys (teams) fit a brand new set of slicks for the last run just to gain the extra 0.5 secs. (Ł1000)

when you are at the front of the field there is some money to be won. last year 48,000 Euro was given out in prize money. (I won 75 Euro sob).

Thats 75€ more than I got last year but I bet you dont do it for the money

Do the Avons have a stiff enough sidewall for your weight of car, or have you reduced the weight lots ?

My car was 1124kg last year. (last dyno check 290ps). I've moved some things about and fitted Carbon /Kevlar doors. next is Titanium exhaust, when I have some more cash. especially the manifold, its 7.7kg.

This year it should be 1060kg. I've still to corner weigh it, but it should be near to,
FR 300kg
FL 290kg
RR 240kg
RL 230kg

and no I don't do it for the money. i don't really have much chance against the competition. You guys from UK with 450 - 600 ps would probably do better than me.

The trye sidewalls are pretty stiff, the Avon guy used to be German hillclimb champ, he has a lot of experience and recommended the A11 for my weight of car. The biggest problem is getting the tyres warmed up.

Hi

Yes I was in Mickhausen, great atmosphere and the weather for the spectators was perfect on Sunday.

were you there on Saturday or Sunday?

I was in Gp H over 2000cc, the winner of the group was from Schweiz, Opel Kadett C 340ps, 900Kg.

Hope to go back this year again.

kenny.

I was there on Sunday. Only got one picture of your car and unfortunately that one's quite blurry.

Just out of interest. Are you German or British?

Hi

The cost is also a big problem for me, holidays and other things are sometimes put aside for a year or so.

I'm from Scotland, worked here in Germany for almost 5 years now.

will post some photos from last weekend soon, Rennsteig Bergrennen.

Send me an email if you have some good GpA parts for sale, the guys here are always looking for parts.

My son wants me to leave him my car now... and I aint anywhere near dead yet.

Hi Carl

Saloon car ch'ship... I don't think I'm anywhere near good enough or rich enough.

I bet there are a good few guys on passionford who can drive a bit. The problem is the time and the money.

In my class there are,
BMW M3, 1988 DTM car. 930kg, 320ps
Merc 190 1993 DTM car. 1075kg, 360ps
Merc AMG 190E EvoII 1080kg, 310ps.
BMW M3, 2004. 1080kg, 420ps.
M3 E30. 900kg, 330ps.
Opel Kadet C 2400cc, 910kg, 300ps.

In Group H there are,
Opel kadet C, 830kg, 300ps.
Ford Ecsort RS2000 Mk1, 854kg, 280ps.

My car 1100kg (soon 1060kg) possibly 280ps.

The Astra V8 is in the open class,
1040kg, 500ps.
and 1 Escort cosworth, could be 600+ ps, and weighs 930kg.

I need to find 2 secs per kilometer, this would help me to close the gap between myself and the other cars in the class. Will speak to Motorsports developments in Blackpool again, the work on the EECIV sounds interesting and would give me up to 100ps more. Need to ask what the torque curve looks like and what the rev limit is.

a video of the 1/4 mile event last weekend, held before the hillclimb for the spectators.

http://daten.ws-mack.de/Download.asp...Kat23/1_F3.wmv

cheers

kenny.
