Final touches to the trackday car....
Getting really excited now as my trackday car is nearly completed
All the major work is gone and it's just a case of the little finishing bits to complete then she's done
Once all that's been done of to the garage for an mot, tax and then going out for a well deserved blast!!
Here's a few pictures of some of the bits i did over the weekend......
First had to find the correct tools!!
Then measure up the door panels.....
Then had to cut the panels out of our carbon lookie likey material stuff
Then pilot drill the fixing holes, ready for the self tappers.......
Then fix the panels to the door frame..............
I had to take the grab handles off the car when the rollcage went in to make room, so i re-used them to good effect!!!
I had some panelling left over so I fitted the boot panel out....
Also my next job is to fabricate a forced induction box to cover the air filter. You might think that it would be easier to buy one but with the mi16 engine fitted the position of the induction kit was limited and is toward the back half of the engine.
So with the limited space we had an 'off the shelf' item was not feesable, so out came the tools again.......
Just got to paint it in 'heat proof' paint and hook up the air duct from the headlamp duct/vent and hey presto we have forced induction!!

Been getting it ready for our first trackday which is on the 24th Feburary. Craig, i'll be giving it a full wash and wax buffty seesion before i take some full pictures of it and post them up. So you'll have to wait a few more days ha
I must admit though it took me a long time to find one which is in as good condition as this!! The whole car is stunning, not rust no blemishes it's a shame to turn it into a track car!! ha ha
Will post some pictures of the finished article sometime next week
