Default I've recieved a passionford Infraction!!!

Just logged in for the first time in months and seen a lovely worded message saying I've got an infraction for advertising my Motorsport Rescue / Safety website on my sig. How long has all this disciplie been on here, "Infraction" that's a bit strong worded isn't it, years ago you'd just get into a pm slanging match with Gus! (Is he still on here?)

Not sure if the PF rule makers are aware but I've actually done safety cover for people on the board before for free, and also if you check the website you'll see that the last page details the non commercial side to my business, an MSA Unit that is a volunteer unit who do Rescue cover for a donation toward our costs, this year alone we are also doing cover for 9 events for free as we're donating our fee to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. We are a new MSA Volunteer Rescue Unit and as some of the guys on PF compete in Rallying we may have got some bookings though them? The event we are covering for the Ferrari Owners club, which is also for the Air Ambulance, came about through us mentioning on another forum about us.

My website was on my sig to let people know what we do, I get enough money through the commercial side of things (I darent mention my limited company name), and as every Ford mag uses me I don't need to advertise on here to get them. The post was genuinly as I'm proud of the website I've made up and wanted feedback, it also has someone from PF on it.

Exactly why I don't come on here anymore, to get a message saying "You have received an infraction at PassionFord" woooah Dudes, kinda serious wording don't ya think? I know moderators have a job to do but there's other less aggresive ways to deal with things, how's about the old talking thing people used to do? OK, So my commercial business makes a nice income from doing some awesome stuff, but it's not exactly like I'm selling cossie parts at knockdown prices is it?

No worries though, not wanting to jump on a bandwagon, but when people say "it aint what it used to be on here" I think the answer's obvious.

Hence why this is the first time I've logged in ages. Since when did all this "discipline" come about on here? That said I think if this post is still here in the morning could be interesting?lol

I certainly have, The message mentions points and stuff, I presume 12 and it's a ban? That'd be a right pain as I'd have to rejoin as andyescos2. Oh the shame of it! There can be only 1!

Do I get more infractions for talking about this? Is there a PF underground propaganda room I can go to to discuss uprisings and anti capitalist marches etc?

i'm registered on a lot of forums and a lot i pay for subscription wise and see the same over and over, sites have gone from friends chatting to more forums run like businesses .

It's a shame really as people have kind of lost grip of what its all about and not about how much money can be made hence why every forum i use ends up losing more members then gaining

personally from the above info i think its a bit OTT

all the above is just my personal oppinion

Hi andy i am with you here and i have voiced my opion to the Admin that i think the rules are wrong on this and what you do and others makes up the fabric of this site.

Here is just 1 post i made to the Admin about the rules
https://passionford.com/forum/showpo...6&postcount=31

but got no reply.

I have also seen the lack of "Ford" based trader banner adds which also tell you the place has changed

on the same note you tell me why you wasn't sly trading ?? so making something and then selling it on isn't trading
obviously the decision was correct as I didn't see you jumping up and down protesting your innocence
just to remind you of your post
Hi all

I've got 10 of these plugs for sale, ideal if you want to give your car a smoother look by removing the rear wiper. They are very easy to fit, took me no more than 10 mins to do the whole job, with a couple of spanners and a screwdriver. You will require a small amount of sealent (silicone or similar) if you want to make sure they are 100% water tight, although the plugs are a tight fit, so I shouldn't imagine they will leak!

My supplier at work may be able to get more of these in the future if there is enough demand.

I await the withdraw of your comment

another one that cant tell the truth but is quick to jump up and down, would you like me to list the "FIVE" cars you have had for sale since January, take a look at the rules mate your only allowed "FOUR"
so no power gone to anyones head mate, modeartors dont have "power" thats for superman and spiderman,we follow the rule and act on reported post by fellow members of this site.
dont spit your dummy out because you have broken the rules its not our fault
i dont suppose I will hold my breath waiting for you to withdraw your comment
typical too quick to shout and scream but when prooved wrong nothing more said

i see that the rule is im not allowed to post more than 4 cars so yes i agree and agreed at the time that i broke the rules but there are ways to go about it.

A streight out infraction to me is unfair, all it needed was an email.

I advertised a car for my brother and it was removed and a little pm was sent telling me the error of my ways.

Thats all thats needed.

now the rules state 4 cars allowed you had 5,

as moderators we have set rules to follow and set messages to send to all that get an infaction, these messages have been set down by admin,we copy them and send them to whoever needs a warning,we do not enter into personal PMs,as all infaction given goes into another room and stored so all mods and admin cant see what why and when, then if there is any issues or complaints we can refer back to them
easy isnt it,all this stuff no ones see which is for the good of the site, but shouts and screams if they get a warning

The PM was sent my a moderator to warn me and i there fore did not get an infraction.

The best way to do it nothing wrong with a little warning.

i broke the rule so yes i was wrong but as i said there are ways to go about it.

Im not the only one that thinks this so its not me thats the problem.

so you now admit you broke the rules,so why did you post a "moan" post 17 if you wish to go back and re read what you have put.
"I have advertised to many cars apparently."
you know you have advertised too many cars,so why moan ???

If you think that I am 'trading' by passing on whatever I had left from a packet to other members only to be reimbursed for the cost of postage, packaging, fuel and my time to get to the post office then yes, I am guilty.

My offer to get some more through work if anyone else wants them, once again to make no profit was merely my good will towards other passionford members.

For this instance I am sure that a PM to ask me to take my goodwill elsewhere would have been FAR more appropriate, and not for you to use it as another excuse to smash the Infraction button.

Most of the threads we remove are down to complaints from other members via the RTM function.

Pete has a full time business to run as well as giving his time freely to moderate on Passionford and therefore has to make quick judgements on things.... if you feel you have been treated unfairly or incorrectly by Pete or any of the other moderators then all you have to do is PM us in a polite and sensible manner and i guarantee we will review the evidence etc and be as fair as possible.

We have to be seen by the paying traders to be policing the parts and cars for sale forums as we have lost traders before due to them getting fed up with the sly bedroom traders that we are trying to stamp out!! we dont always get this right but we do our best!!

We have had to limit the amount of cars advertised for sale on here by Gold members to 4 per year to protect our paying traders but this rule has been in place for 3 years!!!

Im sorry if some of you do not feel the rules are fair but they were in place for you to see and accept before becoming members/goldmembers on Passionford.

I didnt know we had a "infraction button warrior"
if you mean how many complaints have we had from people who has been issues and infraction, then not many but as I have just prooved on this thread alone both had and openly "now" addmitted breaking the rules
now Mr Latham would you like to join in regarding your infraction for "sly trading"

see look the specialist just has to consistantly bang on about proof and admitting breaking the rules.

I didnt say i didnt break a rule. I thought the rule is SOLD 4 cars.

Its not its post 4 cars which i now know.

That does not mean that i deserved any more than a quick 2 second email to say about how i may not have realised that i have broken the rules and that i am not allowed to post more than 4.

However you just deal out infractions for genuine mistakes.

then you bang on about how right you are and how everyone that does not understand youre methods are all traders and beneath you.

You seriously need to look at how you come across.

Rant Over.

Thats it for me on this one.

Im going to let it lie.

its no good trying to trun the tables mate,"YOU" broke the rules not me
I did exactly what the mods have been told to do,"issue an infraction using the template set down by admin"
now mate I have domne exactly that,no more no less.
what makes you so speical that you feel you should have had a personal PM from a mod ???
no one else does thats why the templates have been set out, eveyone gets the same treatment and the same message, obviously you feel your better then everyone else
"you" should look how "your coming over" when its a plain as the nose on your face what the rules say,so you have nothing to let lie, just accept it

Just use your Ignore button matey. I did, fucking brilliant

I thought it was just me that Pete had an issue with, the way he keeps giving me points lol..

The rules need to be relaxed alittle on this site, then perhaps people wouldnt be moaning about how the site has gone down hill...!!!

I think Jimbob was being a sarky mule.

I love how people want to have their side of the story sympathised with then dont want "the man" to have their say
