Default No longer a Passion Ford Trader

Just you let you all know I am no longer an offical Passion Ford Trader, due to the costs of the adverts set down by the new owners and a few other reasons of my own,
I would like to thank Stu for the hard work he put into this site in the early days as I have been supporting this site from the begining but sometimes things come to and end
obviously I will be carrying on using this site as a gold member and a moderator
also a big thanks to the support from my friends and customers which I have made through this site
Iam not closing the door on this site just stepping back and see how things go
Iam off on holiday now for a well earned rest

Sorry for the slight post hijack......

To save me starting a separate post, I'm not a trader any more either.

We are of course still in business, but chose for now to not renew our Trade pack.

Again, echoing the above, this isn't a reflection on the way Stu is running the site, it is better than ever in almost every respect, but sadly we just cannot justify the outlay since we are rammed with almost 5 weeks worth of work right now from the 200sx and Evo market!

Thanks!

If the traders aren't funding the running costs of this forum who will though? It'll either be us or it'll be forced to close. I can't see IB running it at a loss.

Apparently so, but I don't actually think the board has lost anything anyway, apart from a few quid!

Everyone know's who the traders are anyway, as you say Dan.........A PM's never too far way!

More fools them as its money lost as far as I can see it..... All due to greed!

Fuck me, my MD shit his pants when I slashed our rates! (But I want ALL of the business out there!).

Out of interest, is there a way of knowing how many traders have re-newed at the double price and how many have chosen not too.

Would be interesting to see the figures to see if the decision was a good business move or not thats all.

It must be over priced if so many of them aren't renewing. You don't often see a skint trader...

Its ok for the old school users knowing who to use on here but not a lot of good for people that either don't come on here often or have recently joined IMO

I dont think this site will fail without the traders paying the fees , as said the new owners arnt bothered about us little people there after the big hitters in the adds below .

Having said that , it wont harm having some well known traders on here , and as Tesco says , " every little helps "

What do you mean by that?

I see my signature so got taken!! LOL.

Why did it all get taken? It was only the image that had the logo in it, not the text.

I never said it was the cost that made me not want to renew , altho a 100% rise didnt help

Plus i dont feel that this website is worth 400+ vat when i dont pay much more for a years adverts in Fast Ford mag .
Its all about if you feel its worth what they want , And i personaly dont ,

I advertise in 3 mags every month so spend a lot on advertising so have to draw the line somwhere

Fair enough !!! Was going to say you give the impression you make Ł400 (at least) a day profit hence I was surprised!!!

Got to say I get bored most of the time looking at this site now as the threads are mostly about bollocks and fook creating a thread if your not one of the popular peeps as it won't get read!

just a thought but have none of the ex-traders thought of advertising with google?

you could run a targetted ad campaign with adwords and appear in the advert below on a pay per click basis.

It's Ł400 no VAT, I know because I paid up the other day .... which is less than Ł8 per week, I can't see how you could fail to take profit on that!

My input into this thread was not intended as an attack on PF. We have a good 5 weeks worth of work booked, of which not even 5% is Ford. We are paid up Traders on the SXOC and MLR, for which we see a significant return and a good prospect from the point-of-view of good quality work too.

no one has said you cant make profit, its not all about that,
why pay when you cabn advertsie for free like most other people, you only have to look in the pasrt section the classic line
"Iam adverterising for a mate with no net access"
seems to crop up more end more and becomes a game to see whar rules they can break and for how long for
I just feel I need a brake for a while and see how the site runs

Thats right, there is loads of that kind of stuff.

Another classic is posts where people ask what something is worth and try and cover it up by putting 'this is not a for sale post'. LOL.

Pete, wind it in. That stuff belongs to ME. Not APT.

So, you're saying that because I was a Trader I now can't advertise ANYTHING for sale as it might be a sneaky ad for APT?

I personally own those injectors, along with 2 Newman Cam Kits, a 30psi Boost Gauge and a whole lot of other bits I am taking off my RST at the moment.

Can someone please tell Mr Moderator Pete that a Gold Member is allowed to advertise parts belonging to him/her?

He seems to be missing the point.
